Strong bet imo. Hell, we went 7-9 under Nolan with a roster nowhere near as good as this one. Granted, the NFC West was not nearly as strong as it is now, but the Rams and Seahawks were significantly better than us at the time. Still managed 7 wins by simply running the ball and playing hard on defense. This year's team has far better talent, Carlos Hyde is gonna be star, new and improved Kap, and a defense with very good depth across the board.

Nolan went 7-9 in the weakest division in the NFL.

The overall point is, I still think we have comparable talent to the Rams and Cardinals. No reason whatsoever why we can't best those teams and finish 2nd in the division. Finishing 2nd in this division probably puts us over 6.5 wins.
IMO offense will be better and defense will be worse. 6 wins sounds about right to me.
Ferrell ... lol. Does the guy still sound like he is at the end of a week long bender? No one knows s**t about any team yet, period.

This. Let's not forget, 2011 was supposed to be the "Suck for Luck" throwaway season. I get having a feeling about a team, but the truth is, nobody knows sht just 2 weeks into camp, especially dudes like Ferrell.

The 49ers still have enough talent to win nine games, but losing Aldon Smith to some suspension could doom them to a losing season

I actually agree with him. We have the talent to 9 games easily. Could also very easily win 6. Not much separates the two, it comes down to only a handful of plays when you think about it.

I think the most we could hope for is 10 games, but realistically around 7-8.
3-13 and hope I'm wrong. A team doesn't just come back strong after this kinda offseason, maybe the worst offseason in nfl history if we have a winning record... Tulsa for president.

Tomsula, I'm retarded

His 6.5 wins prediction is pretty accurate after this offseason. But he really needs to get that voice fixed. I can't take more than 2 minutes of listening to him.

There's a chance we could be 0-8 this season before Atlanta, the schedule is that difficult. I'm trying to remain optimistic, but after losing Aldon, the feeling of apathy from expecting nothing but sub 8 win teams prior 2011 is starting to creep back in. Suddenly being last place in a strong division doesn't seem so impossible, or unexpected. Damnit.
Lines are based on where the bets are. We were previously at 7.5 or something like that. When Aldon was released, bettors started betting the under, hence the drop in the line. If they kept the line at the same spot, it would get lopsided. Casinos need to keep an even amount of money on both sides of the line or else they would go out of business.
If Kaepernick is truly a gifted QB and can carry the team, we will win at least 9 games. If he is who he was last season we will win no more than 6 or 7.
We won 8 games with a horrible oline, no Willis, no Bow, no Aldon, end of the road Justin Smith and Gore.

2015 Oline > 2014 Oline
Bow/Wilhoite > Borland/Wilhoite
Brooks/Lynch (Eli in rotation) > Brooks/Skuta (Aldon out 9 games)
2015 Kaep (working with warner) > 2014 Kaep (hanging out in miami)
Hyde > Gore
2015 dline > 2014
T.Smith > Crabtree
healthy vernon > injured vernon

The biggest kicker? No more lockeroom drama! Crabtree gone. Harbaugh gone. Aldon gone. Now we can focus on football.

I'll take the over day all.
