I'm not here to fight or anything, but Boldin was doubled from the snap, and Kap actually turned his head to look at the center of the field. He should have had time to see Hyde or Patton, and I can't tell from the framing on the play if Smith is winning on the outside. I think Kap is perfectly capable of playing QB well, if he sees more of the field, speeds up his progressions, and becomes more consistent with his throwing mechanics.
That said, I believe those were both bad plays, and he should have done better on both of them. I also think the first gif should have been a package that had more routes at or beyond the sticks.
Here's that play:
vs Cover3
The two underneath routes (Hyde/Patton) are just to draw attention from the underneath defenders. To get the first down, the only two real options are Torrey and Boldin. Boldin can't threaten vertically (can't sell the Go) which makes the deep Out route very difficult to get separation.
Blue defender isn't worried about VD so he sinks and is able to take away Boldin's Out.
If Kap had looked towards the strongside, perhaps he sees Torrey burn Sherman. Kap does a good job not forcing the throw to Boldin because Boldin was never open.
