So who do we currently have on the roster that would serve us better to just trade them now, and move in another direction? With some cap issues we're currently up against, I'd like to see Brooks traded, along with V. Davis, and A. Boone. What could we truly get for these guys? Boone probably has the most value, but what could we get? Does Brooks only net us a 5th or 6th rounder? Davis a 4th? Boone maybe a 3rd?
Those are 3 guys I'd not lose sleep over trading away, and using the cap savings on FA instead. I throw Boone in there, because it's not likely that we'll pay him after this coming season, and we might as well get something good now, than wait hopefully for a comp pick later. Dawson needs to take a pay cut or go, and Dahl should be gone as soon as possible.

Boone is the guy they should move. Doubtful anyone trades for Brooks with his high contract cost.

I know Davis had a down year but his value is higher than a 4th round pick and I'd say higher than Boone's.

I hear you on Davis, I just think he's replaceable in the sense that he didn't do jack for us this year, and now he's got back issues. Davis still thinks he should be paid like the best TE, even though he's not there anymore, and might now get back there again. Maybe we could package all 3 guys I listed to the Raiders for their 2nd round pick this year? Kind of a bundled package, the Raiders have TONS of cap space, and could use all 3 guys. By trading those 3 guys, and then cutting Dawson and Dahl, we could make a couple descent value signings in FA, and look at the draft to replace a few of those guys.

I hear you guys...on those
I really could see and agree Alex Boone...being traded I see a future 4th or and even 4th...or even a late 3rd depending on the team.
V.d. I would like to see if he returns to his old self...with a new offensive and hopefully other great players around we should see him return...if not trade him during season.
A.Brooks...trade ill take anything for him right now but I also would package him with other player.5th ...or 5th&6th ..but with other player 4th!
Q.Patton....we didn't use him last season ...and his game is much like all the others on the roster all possession wr with average speed and small separation...6th by him self 4th with or 3rd with the like of books/ Boone/ v.d. next to him. We will get better with a big body speed wr
Vance McDonald: 6th,7, by his self 3rd with those top guys...
Not his fault...I blame g.m. should of took the other Te that year...he can block his ass off thou...could be a third tier Te
Last of all maybe Kilgore...he would be a long shot!3rd..or 4th...

Boone is to good a price to trade imo. Its think it's vd and Brooks. Even Borland only for a first. But I would be pissed if trading him. Want to know how bowman is first.

I like Brooks but I can't see teams trading for him with that contract. I think most GMs will assume we will have to cut him and they can deal direct.

This. And disagree on trading Boone, don't want to lose both starting guards

Brooks & Boone could be traded this offseason & i would be happy. We could move some younger guys in & also save money for the future with those moves

Wasn't Cleveland about to trade for him at the deadline last year but we backed out?

If A. Davis were to be traded this year, we would actually lose cap space, because of his remaining signing bonus hits. The thing with trading Brooks, is that it is kind of like when we traded for Boldin. Everyone figured he'd get cut, but there's no guarantee he comes to your team, unless you trade for him. If Boldin was cut, there would have been no guarantee he'd come here once he became a FA. Hence the reason we traded for him, and kept him. Brooks could be traded, and then work out a restructured deal with his new team.
Granted Boone is on a cheap deal, but he'll be unrestricted after this year, and he's already showing that he wants to get paid really good, so that's why if we let him play out this year, he's probably going to be like an Iupati, where we just let him leave. Unlike last year, we actually have a replacement for Boone on the team if we trade him (M. Martin or B. Thomas or J. Looney) and we could draft someone as well to eventually work their way into the starting lineup.

Answer this question first, "Are we rebuilding or are we reloading?" The answer to that question determines everything else.
