I have to go with Geep too. Mangini will do very well with this personnel and will hover around top 3-10. But Geep...we're going to make leaps and bounds from 25th in points to 15+ and just that leap alone with be noticeably seen ON the field and in the W-L column.

This is why I wonder why so many fans are so sure there's going to be a drop-off. The defense gets a BUNCH of pro-bowl talent back. Aaron Lynch looks like a real beast if they're going to replace Brooks with him. And then on offense, how could they possibly do worse than 25th with a new, unpredictable system, a healthier offensive line and the kind of off-season work we've all been hoping Kaepernick would embrace?

So if the defense is still real good and the offense gets a lot better, how does the team end up with a worse record?
Tomsula, not even close.

Mangini has a star studded defense. Our D would make most anyone look good.

Besides, if Tomsula doesnt succeed, nobody is going to look that great.

Chris Foerster. With, hopefully, a healthy ADavis and Kilgore, the Oline will improve and not suck.

This is a great pick as well. For real...

Interesting pick. Who do you think replaces Iupati? Martin or Thomas? I'm curious if we go power or zone blocking system, anyone know what Miami ran?

That's the thing with Cryst though, will it be an unpredictable offense? From everything I've read is that it will be virtually the same except they will simplify it. Don't know if that excites me because I hated our offense the whole Haroman era. Waaay to predictable. So will simplified make it even more predictable? I do think we'll be better than last year though, which doesn't say much
Whoops, stupid phone

Just being able to get plays off before the play clock hits 0 is unpredictable based on what we had under HaRoman.

Foerster and Wolford are both ZBS specialists. I asked the same question in the coaching thread.

Our new coaching staff is disapproved by most fans and the media alike. Who do you think will have us singing a different praise by mid to seasons end?

My pick: Eric Mangini

I think this guy has a huge chip on his shoulder and has been chomping at the bit to get an opportunity again. He's now on the side of the ball he belongs, and will use this year to make his mark being back. He's still young and I'm sure has the ultimate goal of a head coaching opportunity again. I think with him coordinating game plans and Tarver coaching the backers, these two will be much more aggressive with blitzes than Fangio was, well because Fangio hardly blitzed to begin with. I'm predicting a top five defense with more sacks by our defense in the season than Fangios defenses in any of the four.
The most was 42 under Fangio in 2011

haha, I was thinking these two guys. The 49ers d line will play well because of franklin and Jim T. Eric M will prove he is a competent DC when he has talent to work with.

One of our base packages will include Dial and Caradine on the field at the same time. I'm excited to see how this pans out.
Hopefully all of them.
