First of all, this thread shows no disrespect to the coordinators and staff who have been named, or will soon be named, to coach our team next year.
That would be classless, reactionary, and ill considered.
Instead, I'd like to take a poll on whether our senior management team has put these individuals in a position to be successful at their jobs.
Tomsula, Mangini, and maybe Chryst were not given incremental advancements in job title and responsibility,
They were promoted to highly visible positions with no recent experience at doing these jobs, or simply no experience at all.
This puts them in a difficult posture to work through the inevitable mistakes that will be made on the field.
Media and fans will eat decision makers alive when adversity strikes, if they don't have a cachet of experience and accomplishments to fall back on.
Senior management likely selected these guys based largely -- but not exclusively -- on financial and inter-personal reasons.
But in taking so long, they have left the door open to speculation that these guys were d, e , f on the option checklist.
Again, is this putting candidates in the best possible position to be successful?
