Garcia seems to be a fan of the 49ers too, from growing up in gilroy. He wants to be a coach badly too. Not sure how well he did in montreal this past season.

How is being a fan of the 49ers or playing for the 49ers relevant?
If the 49ers hire Garcia, I will not object. If they do hire him, I will not complain.
If Kaepernick decides to work with Garcia, I will be surprised, but I will not be upset.

Just saying.. It's prolly why he is openly campaigning for QB coaching job

My sense is" openly campaigning" for an NFL coaching job in the media just might not be the best way to get one of those jobs.
Being stupid enough to tweet in support of Cohn the younger idiot's assertion that Kaepernick made a mistake when he decided to work with Kurt Warner might be considered a kiss of death to his chances of getting a job with the 49ers.
But, I will acknowledge that I am prejudice. I can not stand Cohn the younger.

Why should the 49ers hire Jeff Garcia?
The fact that Garcia played for the 49ers is fundamentally irrelevant.
The simple fact that Garcia has been speaking in the media, or running his mouth, about working with Kaepernick can not be taken as a positive. I would say that Garcia's tweet criticizing Kaepernick's decision to work with Warner stands a good reason not to hire him.
If the 49ers were to bring in an retired 49er quarterback, I would hope they would bring in Steve Young.
warner would make the most sense,, if ck is improving, if warner is interested, if ck gives him a stamp of approval, if the coach agrees, lotta ifs there

I'm all for bringing him in! He's been a fan of the team for a long while. He'd be my second choice for QB Coach. First choice? Steve Young, of course.

if not S. Young then Jeff would be great. They both did great in the WCO, so they will know who to look for in our next QB

I think Shanahan will pick/need offensive assistants he's familiar with. I'm not sure Garcia is that. Maybe they take a flier on him as an assistant position coach to round out the staff.
