There are so many ex-49er greats around that the Team should lean on (if they are willing) to help develop the youngsters.
you would think they would do that right?
If i was niners ownership any all time niner that wanted to be around the team and help out you guys come on in and give pointers. you guys come in and coach. ill pay you 50k under the table if you're hurting for money or something.
why isn't Jerry rice planted with the wr's in the off season on unofficial stuff?
Young?
Bubba?
Ed?
Brent?
Craig?
just seems to make some sense.
An environment like that could help players, but it could also create chaos. You want to make sure the players aren't getting conflicting directions from a bunch of different sources.
Still, with the right planning it could be helpful to the team and certainly a plus from a public relations perspective.

Totally agree.
Maybe the coaches are afraid the ex-players will tread on their turf.

He didn't do well at all. Kilgore at center and Martin and the redshirt tackle/guard will battle it out for LG. Martin seemed pretty weak especially the rams game, no push at all. I think maybe he moves to rg when Boone leaves in a year

Brandon Thomas.

Certainly hope so. High hopes for him as well. Martin has an uphill battle beating out Kilgore at center IMO. He's got a ways to go. Thought Kilgore was clearly the better player before getting hurt. Should be interesting.
