No matter which side of the fence you are on when it comes to Harbaugh's departure, you have to admit it was a hell of a ride these last four seasons. From the magical 2011 season, to the crash and burn of the 2014 season, there were so many ups and downs along the way. Whether you just experienced your first winning seasons as a 49er fan, or finally saw your 49ers rise to prominence once again after years of slumping, we were entertained in many ways.
As we await for the next era of 49er football to captivate us and bring us together for cheers, jeers, and football discussion, let's take a stroll down memory lane from the not so distant past, and see how the last four years of 49er football got us to jump out of our seats to cheer or punch our fists through the wall.
Obviously this will take awhile to come together, but there's a lot of time this offseason. Let's get this started with the first 49er touchdown of the Harbaugh era.
2011: Week 1
49ers 33 - SEA 17
49ers: Using playaction and a rollout, the 49ers look to get a quick high-low read to Smith's right with DWalker (#46) running a corner route.
The playaction doesn't fool a young Earl Thomas as DWalker doesn't get enough separation for Smith to pull the trigger.
With both his options covered, Smith runs it in for the Touchdown.

2011: Week 1
49ers 33 - SEA 17
Something that would never happen again in the Harbaugh era happened in this game.
A kickoff return for a touchdown as Ted Ginn takes it 102 yards to the house.

Something else that would never happen again in the Harbaugh era also happened in this game.

This is gonna be an awesome thread. I can't wait to "relive" the 2011 season, it will always be my favorite Harbs season. Just a note, be sure to show if available the would be missed 70 yard td in the baltimore game(Not the Ginn one called back on a bull s**t Chop Block). It was early in the game, we came out in a Split form and ran a PA Slide, Alex didn't see Delanie busting free and dumbed it off (note: this is not a knock on alex, I always liked him and I'm also very pro-Kap). It would have been a pretty big play if memory serves me.

I just realized if you take away those two returns by Ginn, Harbaugh's offense was held under 20 points 9 TIMES IN A ROW against the Seahawks. Wow.

I don't think this game is recognized in seattle, because they hadn't gone full retard with their clown outfit uniforms and don't have mini-me yet at QB so this game doesn't count Who am I kidding, this is 2011 half of seattle fans today didn't even know they had a team in the northwest.

Yeah that's the one you could Roman scream Delanie! On the NFL sound effects show...it was a one hour show.
That's when we first had confirmation that the play can go somewhere else....and it was not by design that we were hitting underneath stuff.
I loved the 2011 season...but i just hated that we were historically horrible at converting 3rd downs....or it seemed like it week after week.

I was a little harsh, I know it's a huge "Sounders" territory.

2011: Week 2
DAL 27 - 49ers 24 (OT)
The first TD pass in the Harbaugh offense.
DAL: cover 0 (7 man pressure)
With high pressure coming, Smith completes his dropback and targets Kyle Williams fade route on the backside.

I just looked that play up and DWalker would have had an easy TD. That's in week 12 so it'll be a few days till then.

Thats cool....What's funny is I have a pretty good eye and memory of the "Old School plays" we ran that year and that PA Slide always sticks out. Another one remember is I believe early second half of the Dallas game, we come out in a split and run a double screen but I think Ware blows it up. I also remember a "Scissors" type play out of either a Far/Near Twins set in the Detroit game. Just reminiscing about 2011, is putting me in a good mood.
2011 in my mind is all about the Philly comeback(That 30 yard td to Josh Morgan on a little Slant-Flat action and Justin saving the game with a strip) and the Divisional game vs NO. That 4th quarter was epic.

I saw the thread title and thought "oh s**t". Great idea and cant wait for it to unfold.
I have 1 request. Can the OP please post a breakdown w pics of the play from the playoff game against NO in '11, where Whitner blew up Pierre Thomas? A very standout moment in the harbaugh era imho. It would be greatly appreciated.

2011: Week 2
DAL 27 - 49ers 24 (OT)
Trailing by 3 points with two minutes left in the game, DAL would drive down the field and into FG range. With 50 seconds left, they would run a pitch play to WR Miles Austin who fumbles the ball.
Brock was unaware that Justin had forced a fumble. Had Brock been aware of the loose ball, it's game over. DAL would kick the game tying FG on the next play.
