- Asking Kap to follow suit and be crass with the media. My guess is after the OAK game, someone from the FO pulled Kap aside and said, "Jim's gone. You don't have to follow his directions and be a dick to the media." That's when Kap gave a thoughtful interview in front of ihs locker.
- Putting pressure on the GM by saying things like, "Player A should get paid. He deserves to be paid." (paraphrased)
This. Harbaugh acted at times as if he was the union rep for the players. You can't do that and be a head coach at the same time. You support your players but don't get in between them and management such as with the Tarell Brown situation. He repeatedly was shooting outside of his lane and that was definitely not something which endeared him to the front office.
Big time to the bolded. That's stepping into GM territory and the GM has lots to think about with the cap and all.
Just to to cite a couple instances where Jim did this:
----------------
"He's somebody that I think you reward," Harbaugh said. "You know he's out there, and opposing offenses know that he's out there. He tackles and does everything that you'd want a safety to do. I feel like you reward those types of people.
Who do you reward if you don't reward those types of people?"

And to go off what you said Phoenix:
"Just think there's a solution there," Harbaugh said Sunday, according to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. "I don't know that it's any one particular thing, but you explore all those options and
find the solution. It's there, we just got to do some work and get it done. We're motivated to do that because he deserves it, he's earned it. I don't want to see him playing for the minimum when he's a starting, top-line player."

Maybe Baalke is telling Jim what to do in terms of X's and O's so Jim fires back like this.
