We'll never know which side was leaking all the info, but the front office looks terrible either way...my concern is whether this scares off coaching candidates wondering what kind of amateur hour operation is going on here.
This has nothing to do with our FO. Jim is a grown ass man making his own decisions. Whatever effect the FO has on this is pure speculation.
To me, it doesn't matter if Harbs is the source of all the problems. I think you have to be concerned with how badly Jed and the FO have handled the entier situation.
They were getting absolutely wrecked by the national media for parting ways with the supposed franchise savior, and the narrative now will probably shift to what a bunch of pushovers they are for letting Harbs coach this last game with not just one but both feet out the door already. Most importantly, I wonder how potential coaching candidates view the situation, is this mess all Harbs own doing or does the instability start with the FO? We may not be as attractive a HC destination as we like to think, after all we are headed for a bit of a retooling period which could potentially turn into a full blown rebuild if our young guys don't step up.
Yeah. Harbaugh is gone after tomorrow. And we are left with these penguins still running the team like amateurs.

#49ers and Jim Harbaugh are believed to have reached an agreement in which he is let out of his contract. He's expected to coach tomorrow.
If this is true, then the FO is making a huge mistake. Maybe they thought news wouldn't get out until after the game. At this point, they have to do what's in the best interest to our players, and that's let someone else coach the team. Half-assed play, guys not doing their assignments leads to possible injuries. It's just plain stupid to allow Jim anywhere near the team tomorrow. Time to move forward without him.
Maybe they don't give a f**k about the media. The FO and Jim reached an agreement, it isn't like he went behind their back. Let Jim go out properly. As our winningest coach in this millennium, he deserves at least that.

go f... yourself JED. 49er fan since 87...and i'm f.....ing done, and can't take the YORK stupidity. I can't do anymore Baalke drafts. i can't take the overrated players tanking this season, like Staley and Lubetree. I can't do the short-sighted petty and cheap-ass nature of the YORK family. your new stadium sucks. it has an entire side that is closed off for quiet glassed-off corporate seats that real fans don't even have access to. the stadium has no homefield edge for a reason.
there is no coach that can save the ship you sank JEDDY boy, you f....ing moron.

It has nothing to do with the media. Jim hasn't even told his players and they are going to be informed he's leaving by watching ESPN. Do you think that's going to motivate guys to play inspired tomorrow, or will they feel betrayed that their coach didn't have the balls to tell them his plans of coaching elsewhere the night before their last game together. That's not a way to treat family, and I guatantee the guys aren't gonna be happy about it.
Exactly. If I, as a fan, feel bad about this, imagine the players. They are demoralized. Let someone else coach.

Shouldn't the anger be directed at the front office which allowed this situation to fester since March?

Yes
The ownership failed to keep a great coach. Jim had to do what's best for him and his family.
Thank you Jim good luck to you.

Agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. These guys who clamor for Jim to be run out of town...just baffles me.
