A poll is needed for this story. If all the reports are true about Jim already signed on to coach Michigan, should Jed allow him to coach the team for our last game?

As of this moment, he's still our coach. The second this all unfolds, I'm with you. This thread has about an 11 hour shelf life until we find out who will lead the team out tomorrow. Let's let it ride. lol

I don't even know anymore
We'll never know which side was leaking all the info, but the front office looks terrible either way...my concern is whether this scares off coaching candidates wondering what kind of amateur hour operation is going on here.

And this thread is over...
Matt Maiocco @MaioccoCSN
#49ers and Jim Harbaugh are believed to have reached an agreement in which he is let out of his contract. He's expected to coach tomorrow.

Harbaugh "did not spill the beans" to his players Saturday night, one of them said anonymously when reached via text message.
Im sure the players aren't surprised.

How can a fired coach who had a deal elsewhere still coach? Lol come on this is getting more and more embarassing. I thought we couldn't get any lower.

in the nfl i cant remember. but college coaches have coached bowl games for teams they're leaving when they've accepted another job. i guess they werent fired, but neither was harbaugh, seems like a mutual parting.

This has nothing to do with our FO. Jim is a grown ass man making his own decisions. Whatever effect the FO has on this is pure speculation.
To me, it doesn't matter if Harbs is the source of all the problems. I think you have to be concerned with how badly Jed and the FO have handled the entier situation.
They were getting absolutely wrecked by the national media for parting ways with the supposed franchise savior, and the narrative now will probably shift to what a bunch of pushovers they are for letting Harbs coach this last game with not just one but both feet out the door already. Most importantly, I wonder how potential coaching candidates view the situation, is this mess all Harbs own doing or does the instability start with the FO? We may not be as attractive a HC destination as we like to think, after all we are headed for a bit of a retooling period which could potentially turn into a full blown rebuild if our young guys don't step up.
