what are the prototypical qualities needed for success at NFL QB? the Scout say height big strong arm 6 foot 5 inches strength.
anybody watch Seattle take apart Arizona last night? it was all Wilson. Running making plays feeling the pocket throwing with touch.
He had a special game for sure. But I'm wondering if we're going to see a shift in how people will look at the quarterback position coming out of college

wilson is an enigma. His scrambling ability is unmatched. His situational awareness is off the charts and dude constantly makes the right decision with the ball. I fkn hate that midget, but gotta give him his props.

Is not size. Is the mental part of the game which often differentiates the great from the good QBs. Is about composure, ability to go through progressions, reading defenses, changing protections, changing plays and great decision-making. As for the physical side of the equation, is arm strength, having an arsenal of different types of throws to cater for different situations, accuracy and perfect ball placement, but you don't need to be 6'5" to do that.
I did watch the game last night, Russell Wilson was just amazing. I can honestly say even with their No. 1 D and Beast Mode, without Russell Wilson they wouldn't be at where they are at now. He might be small, but he has a heck of an arm plus he never gets rattled.

May be to an extent, but definitely no way as rattled as Kap gets when he faces their D. That's the truth.

Answer... neither.
~ 2.2 seconds without a defenseman around your waste roughly 66 percent of the passing plays. That's what you need.

Wilson has tremendous instincts and he's like a bullfighter avoiding on rushing linemen. His game is protected though, second and long is usually a running play. His drop back passes are quick slants over the middle. When he throws deep on a drop back it's over the middle to the tight end because the safety is cheating toward the line of scrimmage expecting a running play. The defense is so dominating he does not have to take any risks and can play field position. If you can contain him in the pocket he's average at best. His game is similar to Doug Flutie's.

The ability to manipulate the pocket is the most important skill a quarterback can have. This is what has made Tom Brady such a great quarterback. I don't care what size a guy is as long as he can manipulate the pocket... something Kaepernick is downright awful at.

Peyton manning does none of that.
He manipulates the defense.
