Yep i do not believe in tanking, but i do believe in taking advantage of your situation. And this is one of them, evry 1st and 2nd year player should be getting significant playing time.Originally posted by LasVegasWally:Originally posted by Elrossoneri:I want to put on the field the young guns. Carradine Dial Johnson Patton Ellington Hyde etc. Just to see what we have with those players. If that's 2 more lose I will be ok...
Yeah, I'm w/you on that.
The more real game experience they get the better they'll be as players and we can see what we have going into the draft.

The silver lining of being eliminated from the playoffs early is you can root for your team to win and if they do, great. If they don't, hey the draft position just improved. Games turn into win/wins.

IND did it when they sat Kerry Collins for Curtis Painter so they could Suck for Luck

Tanking the rest of the season is in a way advantageous for us going forward. It is a competitive strategy for next year so why not?

There is a good chance that we do lose the last two games of this season.
I tend to think that losing those two games would not be good for the team.

1 more win isn't gonna hurt. I want us to go 8-8 and that is it. Although, I prefer beating Chargers and losing to Cards. Fans deserve at least one more win and both are at home so, let's be .500 team and give the fans something to cheer about (FOR ONCE) this season.
For me, this season hurt more than the dark days (at least I expected to lose back then). All the fluff and sugar coating by Harbaugh and being at the bottom of the barrel on offense with so much talent is an epic fail of a season (POOR COACHING / LEADERSHIP).
As much as I am pissed at Harbaugh / offense, I do not want him to have a losing record (at least not as a 49er HC). After that, he can leave if he wants to, I really don't care anymore.
I do hope that last game really matters to Cards / Cawks... if it benefits the Cards for us to lose, then I hope all the players come up with mysterious (minor) injuries to keep them from playing!!

I still don't think many get my original post. For one I'm not about losing and second I always want my team to succeed. I was just making a point about our future and how much it would be to benefit is going 7-9 and entering the draft. Many of you all think this is suppose to be a negative post when in reality it's about betting ourselves for the future.

I could never watch a 9ers game and root for a loss for high draft picks. Leave that bull s**t for the Raiders and jaguar fans :-)

I'd love to lose to the Cards IF it kept Seahawks out of the playoffs.

Players could actually try to win so that the team drafts a weaker player who has a less of a chance to replace current player.

Losing on purpose are for losers. You learn to become a loser and it will carry through the next season just for an easier draft pick. So it's a terrible idea when you encourage players to accept losing and develop a losers mentality.

You want ARI hosting the first ever home Super Bowl game? Na. I rather it be us next season. Even if SEA wins 5>2
