We know how bad this year has been for us fans but what we saw out of our defense was epic.
Fangio, with half his starters gone, kept team after team under 20, 25 points. It is an epic season for his D. Yes there were some blowouts where good OCs with superior talent knew how to call plays. But most mediocre OCs, which are most OCs in the league, mediocre clowns like Trestman,McDaniels and every other has-been retread bounced for our job, Fangio beat them every time even with backups all over the field.

Whilst I believe in freedom to express your opinions, this thread puzzles me. As do one or two others in NT right now. No question, there are things wrong with the team, and umpteen hundred different threads have looked at all aspects of the Offense, the players, the coaching and the tactics.
Most of the NFL and its followers, though, consider that our defence, our defensive coaching and our General Manager are in the top echelon. Except for some people who post here, who, you would have though, would have been broadly supportive of the team and those aspects, like the D, which are working well.
Reading other sites, it does appear that we have some organised trolling of this site. I suggest posters read the rules, particularly the rule outlining the power of the moderators. Any suspicion of trolling will result in a ban.
People are entitled to express their opinions. But on this site 49ers supporters are entitled to come here, to read and to post, without being wound up by fans of other teams PRETENDING TO BE 49ERS FANS. And that is the key. Supporters of other teams who abide by the rules are welcome.
I don't see any reason to keep this thread open. The D is one of the best in the NFL without its beating heart (Willis and Bowman) and without its best pass rusher for a whole chunk, with McDonald's problems and the DB injuries. The fact that with all these problems it is still a top D says something about Fangio and also, incidentally, about Baalke. But the OP has expressed his opinion and I see no reason to keep the thread open. There are other specific threads available for general discussion about Fangio and the D.
