If management wants to replace Harbaugh (as stupid as that will be) with an offensive minded coach then you have to look at successful offensive coordinators in the NFL like Pep Hamilton with the Colts. He was Harbaugh's receiver's coach at Stanford and Offensive Coordinator under David Shaw. So you get a guy already familiar with Harbaughs offense, so there's some continuity; he's lived here locally so will adjust easily, and he's also a minority candidate so that check's the Rooney Rule requirement. Stanford's offense hasn't been the same since he left, and he has the #1offense in the NFL despite having a mediocre OLine and crappy RBs.
If Fangio doesn't get the HC job, he will not stay. Plus he has seen the nightmare Baalke & York have created with the leaked info to the media. Pep can promote Jim Tomsula to Defensive Coordinator because he's more likely to stay because he's not a Harbaugh guy. He's a hold over from Singletary. It would be a promotion for him and provides continuity to the team.
Any better ideas?
