This, he still hasn't gotten over what happened at the end of the 1988 season, neither has Collinsworth.

Harbaugh = Top 5 coach in football. That man is a winner.

Shame all that ego and testosterone in our front office hampered a potential dynasty.

Harbaugh may be top five, (I think that he's on the lower end of top ten), but his offensive coordinator is on the lower end of the bottom three.

This is the problem, and has been a problem for the past four years.... Since the day he took over.

So, Roman and his failed O have nothing to do with it?

Business before EGO!!!

I Agree.

I recall how a few in the Zone wanted to let Alex walk and get ZERO in return.

I'd rather get a 3rd than nothing.

The Raiders will improve under JH.

BUT - JH had allot of very good players when he came here.

The Raiders have a few good players AND JH won't be bringing that mess to a SB for quite some time - if at all.

They both openly admit from time to time that they simply don't like the Niners for the obvious reasons. With Collinsworth, it's not only '88. It's also '81.

And I hate listening to BOTH of them!

Speaking of 88 - SF favored by 7 over Cincy @Joe Robbie Stadium..

The game is best remembered for the 49ers 4th QTR game winning drive. Down 16-13, San Francisco got the ball on their own 8 yard line with 3:10 on the clock and marched 92 yards down the field in under 3 minutes. They then scored the winning touch down on a Joe Montana to John Taylor TD pass with just 34 seconds left on the game clock.

So yes Collinsworth is still mad.. = )

Guys, lest this be another Death to Roman thread ... Roman is not the only problem. Is he part of it? Yes. But to think another OC would be able to fix the play on the field or the lack of speed provided by the FO is misguided. Everyone needs to take a step back and acknowledge that a 7-6 record this year, with all of the injuries, the personnel problems, the difficult schedule, and, yes, the combination of changing the offensive system and the players' collective failure to execute, is actually a testament to just how good Harbaugh truly is.

Harbaugh inherited a fairly talented but under achieving team. But the roster from 2011 is way different from our current roster. The 2011 draft was Baalke's best and a lot of those rookies played that year. But of the 18 players the 49ers drafted in 2012 and 2013, only 5 players have contributed significantly and only 3 are considered starters - Looney, Dial, and Reid. That is effectively two drafts where the 49ers FO did not consolidate picks to grab blue chips or have seen returns on their volume picks. That has a long-term effect on the roster.

This year, rookies have seen significant playing time at center, ILB, OLB, outside CB, slot CB, KR, and RB. We have had a make shift OL for most of this season. We have lost both of our nose tackles, We never replaced Ginn and we don't have a true, top-line speed receiver.

But for some reason our front office seems as misguided as some of our fans - in today's NFL, please let me know the team that has endured the season we have endured and has won the SB that year. The FO would be stupid to let Harbaugh go. Baltimore won the SB in 2012 and failed to make the playoffs the following year. New Orleans has been, at best, inconsistent since winning the SB in 2009. NE hasn't won a SB in 11 years. Stuff happens, teams have bad years. But there isn't a better coach out there. Oakland would be lucky to have him.

I think Rice showed Collinsworth the appropriate gesture. With a Super Bowl ring on. LOL
