Can the next coaching staff fix him or was he a flash in the pan?
The best and most recent example of a new coach fixing a QB is Mike McCoy and Philip Rivers.
Rivers regressed pretty badly under Norv Turner for several years, becoming a turnover machine by taking unnecessary risks as the talent around him deteriorated, specifically the OL. (sound familiar?) McCoy came in and pretty much demanded that Rivers check down, and suddenly a guy who was fading into irrelevance has instead played like a darkhorse MVP candidate the past couple seasons, setting career highs by far in completion percentage.
That being said, Rivers was already damn good QB to begin with. Kap simply has too many deficiencies as a passer that I don't think a coaching staff can fix unless he is willing to spend 24/7 in the film room (aka not the gym) and reinvent himself like Steve Young did.
I think Kap gets one year with the next coaching staff and if there aren't enough signs of progress, we are going QB hunting in the 2016 draft.
Count me as a no. I don't think Kap is the man despite what he wants to hear. Good song though.

Everything was working for him up until this season when the niners decided to implement all this 5-wide pass happy stuff. I think that is why he regressed badly.

he might get better but i have my doubts. i'd start with less red carpets and commercials aswell as fewer pics on social media of him lifting weights. we get it dude, you're jacked and you lift. can you read a D though?

I'd say he's likely going to be like Cam Newton. You'll be able to win with him although I don't think he'll ever be that good of a qb.

My heart says yes, but my mind says no. It just goes against everything that I grew up believing what a franchise QB is in terms of pocket passing.
I'm hoping Kap will develop those skills, but it's becoming more and more unlikely. He's not a young pup anymore. He'll be 28 next season. He should be further along in his development than he is.

EVERY QB IN THE LEAGUE has a bad season. To give up after one would be silly, IMO.
Is he having a bad year? Yes.
Drew Brees had an off year (albeit he also got injured), and the Chargers gave up on him....how'd that work?
Can't completely drop a guy from one bad season. If he had two poor seasons in a row I'd start listening. Trading or cutting someone after one bad season though is lunacy, at any position.
