Good point Baldie, that the development of kap has put JH's development of the team at a standstill. Part of THAT fiasco was the dycking around with a competition between whats is name and kap, and we ended up with no #2, just gabber sitting there with a game board in his hand. Now missing the 1-3 games that kap would have QBed the team due to the gabber deal is no excuse for kap's non improvement (ok, he improved some, but nowhere near a guy in yr four should be) Kap may very well have benefitted from bench warming for 3-4 yrs and learning how to play QB. Instead he just brot his college game which confounded everybody for a yr and a half, and then they caught on and kap had nowhere to go...except sideways to backwards. What a damn shame. All this talent....wasted. No OC and a HC who didn't see or didn't know what to do with it . No kudos for JH there.

The problem with letting Harbs go is that for every chance it creates to get someone we like (e.g. Kubiak, Holmgren, Shanahan etc) there's also the possibility that we go out and sign someone baffling (Wannstedt, Wade Phillips, god forbid...Jim Schwartz).
I know this isn't Terry Donahue we're talking about, but after the Erickson signing in '03 I worry every time a new coach is brought in. I was very skeptical when we first got Harbaugh.

BTW, I don't like neither Kubiak nor Holmgren and certainly not the old Shanahan. At least not at HC.
