Unless you replace him with someone better what's the point.

Arguably, we have two better receivers already.
It's better for the offense if he's #4 behind Johnson and Lloyd. That dude can't get open.

The NFCCG ball was easily catchable. Sherman just made a great play on the ball before it got to Crabtree. However I would like to see Crabtree attack the ball a lot more rather than always wait for it to get to him.

Agree! Crab, just like Vernon never reach or fight for the ball like Boldin does. They wait for the ball to drop in their hands instead of fighting for it. Remember how Brandon Lloyd jumped for the ball against the Chefs? He went after it and fought for it.

But we should let Crabs go unless we can get a fair price for him and I don't see that happening. He's going to want too much money. Trade him for Dez Bryant!
Crabs needs to go regardless, he never enters the season healthy, therefore he f**ks up the chemistry of the passing game, and will probably ask for lots of money in FA. He's a good player, I'm not delusional, but he's not a 'consistent player', and Baalke can just bring in some guy twice his age to bring in more consistent production.

No. I like Crabtree, but not as our Top Dog WR. He runs real good routes and could be the best #2 WR in the NFL. I say keep him! It's not that Kap is enamored with Crabtree, I simply think they are friends. Can't get a better formula than that. I'd say get rid of the overpaid blocking TE and get us a WR to go with Crabtree.

Move on from Crabtree....Boldin/Johnson/Davis in 2015
Honestly I think we should part ways with Crabs, let Stevie and Anquan hold down the 1-2, let Bruce and Quinton try to improve, run two TE sets more often and use Mcdonald and Celek, and draft a big bodied receiver 6'3 + in the draft with a top 3 pick... We need to also find a return specialist we never have any big special team returns that can swing games... I miss Ginn for that

I loved the Crab pick and still like the guy, a lot. That being said, he's gonna may want a boat load of cash and still think he's a # 1 WR (might be disgruntled if not treated like one with the play calling and all)... the frustration already begun.

I'm not gonna be upset if he stays and I won't be pissed if he decides to go elsewhere.
Crabtree is not a feature #1 WR, he wants to get paid and treated like Calvin Johnson but he's a #1 WR on a bad team at best.

Drop the guy and use the money elsewhere.
If we can get Crabtree back for maybe a couple million a year and with verbal guarantee he'll shuck the fut up, sure bring him back.

He won't sign for close to the minimum though, so he can take a hike.
Everyone always brings up Crabtree and money. We don't know jack about who wants what kind of money and what the Niners are willing to offer.

Let's just let this year play out and deal what players need to go or stay when the season is over. For now Crabs is on our team, OUR 49ERS, and he makes our team better. Every frickin week we start 5 new threads to find a way to complain about Crabtree.
I'd like to keep him but we can't afford him.
