Can Alfonso Smith return kickoffs? We now know Hyde can do well in returning kickoffs; however, with the type of collisions that happen it could be just a matter of time before he gets a concussion with how hard he runs and doesn't shy away from contact. Need him healthy and playing at RB as he's really becoming a good compliment to Gore. Also, not thrilled at Cox being the punt returner for much of the same reasons (although he's also showing he's very good at it).

They'll probably stick with Cox at PR. I can see them switching out Hyde on KR for someone else just because it's a little easier of a position.

Of course this is IF Ellington is for sure out

I liked how Hyde looked on KR's but it does make me a bit nervous with him back there, especially given how hard he runs, KR's are violent as is. Given Gore's age, we can't lose Hyde. Not sure we have anybody other than Cox who can handle PR duties until Ellington gets back. I say put McCray back there on KR's and let Cox continue as a PR but coach him to be very careful, can't lose him as a CB.

I rather keep our #1 corner fresh as possible and definitely limit our future #1 back from taking more hits

What's the word on Ellington? Our only legit backup RB should NOT be doing this. This was much worse than it looked. Hyde was dazed.

If I remember correctly, Patton was returned kickoffs in the preseason in a couple of games. If I'm right, I wouldn't mind using him there and have Cox returning punts is fine with me.

Impressive that #55 hit Hyde high, head-on and stopped him cold. It was pretty amazing. Sign him if he is ever available.

I thought Hyde looked good returning kickoffs; however, I don't really want him back there as the team is so thin at RB and he's really been looking good at RB as a supplement to Gore. Today, I thought Hyde was going to have a concussion on that one return. For punt returns, Cox looks solid and could handle it for the time being.

If Hunter wasnt on IR id be ok with Hyde returning Kickoffs.
