Considering we only have two running backs on the roster, there is absolutely no way we can continue to let Hyde return kicks.

Wow really? Just seems like he runs lateral on punt returns

Why don't you want Hyde returning if he proves to be a good returner? That is very important and it is not as if he's our starting running back. This is the NFL where players used to play both ways. I think it helps our backup RB get into a running rhythm and kick returns wi allow him to be a better runner on offense when his number is called.
I don't agree with Cox being a returner because he needs no running groove to be in.
Why not try to teach Patton to punt return?

His punt return average only ranks 19th in the NFL though keep in mind that he only handled 3 punt returns in his whole college career.

Prior to this season I thought Ellington should handle kick off return duties and Cox punt returns.

I just like the fact that Ellington holds on to the ball.....I think some take that for granted that aspect.
I'd like for us to finally get a speedy receiver through free agency to handle PR,KR, and be a deep threat......but I think the team will just activate Patton and settle with that.

I like the guys that replaced Ellington. I trust Cox and I saw some spark with Hyde. He runs like a scalded cat!

I agree with the OP, I trust both players, but they are just too valuable at their respective positions.

Guys, Cox is our best cb, and we only have 2 rbs. We MUST find replacements.

What are we saving him for? Right now the postseason isn't guaranteed and if he's the best we have then put him out there and let him create.

Special teams is all about coaching IMO. You have to have guys making proper blocks to open lanes, you have to have proper schemes, and you have to teach how to put these all together.
