I like it! They should come out strong next week vs. NO.

We still have hope but every game is a struggle and a winning streak will be very difficult to achieve.
Here's the deal though. f**k HOME. We don't have one. I saw it early in the game...the crowd was dead. We have to think of it as a neutral field, nothing more. At least until the corporate pussies sell their tickets to real fans in 2015 and beyond.
Again, things look dismal based on our expectations. But winning solves a lot of things, and my hope is that an embarrassing loss to a cellar dweller will motivate this team not only from a coaching perspective, but a players perspective. You don't think Kap comes out pissed next week to prove a point ?! I think he, along with that s**t of an oline, come out firing on all cylinders.
A sense of urgency is exactly what the doctor ordered, and losing to the Rams was just that.
Guaranteed win IMO
Don't you think that the 49ers at 4 and 3 after the beating they took from Denver had a sense of urgency? They new that the season was potentially on the line. you don't think that the 1st half against the rams was a wake up call?
This has been a tough year all around. We start the season waiting for players like Bowman and Aldon Smith to come back. 2 very big producers for us. then Boone holds out, our RT and Nose tackle get injured. Hunter goes down. Vernon Davis has missed a lot of games and his back up as well. We lose our starting center and Willis starts missing games. We even lost Brock for a bunch of games and Culliver and Ward for some. Most teams would be 1 and 7 or 2 and 6 if they had our missing players. Then we have a ton of problems with the officials and a bunch of questionable calls to deal with. This season has been snake bit.
I still have hope but it just doesn't seem like it's our year.

We could very well win next week. Then win again the next week. Then we gonna get the big head and think what we're doing is working and come out and lose.
For example: We go back to power running and win the next two games. Great. Edit: Redskins expect power running and we come with it. Too bad HaRo doesn't adjust and we lose. Another divisional game down the drain. It may not happen exactly like that, but something along those lines.
We're consistently inconsistent and it's been that way for the last year and a half. Expect us to get better then bad again. It's like clockwork. Only difference is we used to be able to find a way to win. Now? Not so much.

Or they may have overlooked the Rams, which has been something they've done in years past with lesser opponents. Losing to teams like St Louis and Chicago isn't something new to this organization. What's comforting, however, is that after these types of games, the team plays with a chip on its shoulder.
As I said, I was just as down as everyone else last night. But then thought...hey, had we squeaked out a victory yesterday, maybe Harbaugh and Roman think we're doing ok, and stick with some more of the same next week. And we all know that s**t would not have worked against the Saints. Now we go to New Orleans knowing our season is on the line. I just can't see Harbaugh having our team unprepared 3x in a row, when it hasn't happened yet in his tenure.
I'm actually more optimistic vs the Saints now, knowing this team got b***h slapped by the hapless Rams.

So we're fighting for our playoffs lives halfway through the season, how is that a positive!?

The season isn't over until the playoff teams are set.
If we're in - our season continues.
If we're out - we'll cross that bridge at that time.
Until that time - keep on pushin`

Even at the bye, I pointed out that this game would determine our season. The Rams loss may be a blessing in disguise. We could've beat them up, then put on a lackadaisical effort against Brees, but I have a feeling that this "shock" against STL is going to light a fire under Harbaugh & Company's ass.
We still have a 1 game allowance. With Foles out and Romo hurting, the Wildcard is still up for grabs. IF we can get out of New Orleans with a victory, we have some cheap games coming up. Put it this way, we could potentially go into Seattle with a 9-4 record.
Of course, we need a PLAYOFF effort against New Orleans, and knowing Harbaugh's previous records, I think we show up BIG for this one.
Believe it or not, I'm more optimistic with this one than I was prior to playing the Rams.
Can't wait !
Sounds good to me. It's not how you start, it's how you finish. That said, the 49ers offense better start pulling their heads out their bums starting now. Holding ADavis to one TD is cool. Holding Brees to one TD in that dome is improbable.

Sometimes you just need to get on a roll at the right time. We're 4-4...if we make the playoffs, that means we'd have to go on a run that includes winning every game or losing max 1-2 games. No team would want to play us if we managed that kind of run...

This thread makes me laugh. Pretty sure there isnt a silver lining losing to the lowly Rams at home.

I'm really dissapointed at Kaep. I thought by now he would have improved his game situation and awareness. I was up with him, then down, then up and down. I dont get it. I heard he works hard but what does he works on, his tats and muscles? But, that's it. I wiill not expect anything from him anymore. Lot's of athletic ability but little between the ears. Not sure if 49ers can make the playoff. The 49ers are good, but Kaep is holding the team back.
