Everyone assumes roman is going to be fired. If we dont make the playoffs, or exit the playoffs early, his name will be in play for college jobs and maybe even a few pro jobs. The only reason he hasnt left yet is because we have been making it so far into the playoffs, limiting his availability for interviews.

Its not like Loville was tearing it up before then either. There was a couple of years there were they were desperately trying to bring in RB's, Rodney Hampton...etc, they were trying to snatch up anyone with a pulse pretty much in the hopes that they could be the guy and it wasn't until Hearst came along that the RB situation was solidified. Charlie Garner kept it going for awhile and then a whole lot of nothing until Gore came along.

Right, that explains why he's interviewed for several college jobs and been passed up every single time...................
LOL if you think this guy is going to be on anyone's short list for an NFL coaching job.

Oh, Loville was terrible. But Floyd was having a pretty good year to help the team's run game and then went down. that certainly made a weak run game even weaker and less of a threat to Green Bay in the playoffs specifically.

But that's exactly my point!!! who ever we bring in as an OC, will not be guarantee.... so why not give Rathman that chance... he only knows what type of offense, and that's WCO!!!

Also fits into why Trestman's offense was so pass happy, short passes to make up for the lack of a run game. Going forward it was Derek Loville.....and Adam Walker.

Again its a matter of how pass happy he was, it's his MO. Btw, Floyd was ave 3.7 ypc in 1995, so his loss was big but to skew the pass/run ratio the way he did had always been my problem. Outside of our 1995 offense, 2002 raiders offense is the best one he had coordinated and even on that one he was 61% pass, despite ave well over 4 ypc and having charlie garner as his lead back who is better than both loville and Kirby. Hell forte is better than garner and he is still at a level below 40% rushing.
Also that 2002 offense while setting pass completion records was only averaging 6.8 yards an attempt.
