Crabtree, Staley, Boone, Anthony Davis, and VD all disappointed me yesterday.

Rams tried to GIVE the Niners the game back on the entire final drive, but the Niners didn't accept the gift. All I want to know is, where is this JUMBO PACKAGE that the Niners were supposed to have? Can't get one stinking yard for a WIN???? More like Dumbo Package. They always play like this,,,when they meet up with a tough team, they play tough, but a game they should win easily, they play down to the competitions level.

Haven't re-watched the game. I'm putting this loss on the Oline, and the offensive playcalling, which many people have mentioned. I hated how the 49ers didn't stay committed to the run game, particularly in the 3rd quarter. I'm looking at the boxscore now of the play by play and I see several good runs from Gore/Hyde. With the Oline struggling so badly to contain the STL pass rush, the run game should have been a point of emphasis coming out of the halftime break. Get the run game going so the playcation means something. Get that STL pass rush to slow down. I thought Kap played fine. Some throws could have been placed better - one that Crabs dropped on a slant and the catch that should have been a TD. Kap could have led Crabs much better than he did.
The drive that resulted in the Andy Lee bad punt was downright comical. Back to back false start penalties at home? Seriously WTF. Lots of blame to go around to anyone not associated with the defense.
What was up with the blocking in the back call against us resulting in the repunt?

On Kap: he was under pressure all day but i still thought he played poorly. The mis communications to Crabtree, the passes are all over the place. Underthrown, wide, low. Even some passes to Stevie were wide or high. And on some of those Kap wasn't under pressure.
On Roman I have never thought he needed to go until now. Things were always up and down but the offense seems to be the weak link. I don't know how many more weapons Roman needs to get the offense rolling. They always just seem out of sync. I just think something needs to be done to spark the team or to try and salvage the season.
Being out of sync is what i think is wrong with the whole offense. Not just Crabtree, but VD, Kap the Oline, etc... They talk every week about just needing to execute but as a whole, the are not making the plays, catching the ball or hitting their blocks... It's like a talented basketball team that can't hit a shot... all year.
That's the biggest frustration. Its the WHOLE offense. OLine has completely forgotten how to block (pass and run). Gore is starting to look his age. Vernon looks like age caught up to him also. Crabtree isn't himself anymore. Vance, Hyde and Ellington are not impact players right now. Stevie and Lloyd are the ONLY sparks we've had on offense this season but they don't play enough. Boldin at 34 with no speed is our biggest playmaker. Its hard to watch.

Not sure. I'll check it out. I was at a bar and couldn't hear anything. I thought the 49ers were fortunate the punt return didn't count (it was a big return). Didn't get a good view or explanation of the offsetting penalties.

He was also wide open on the third down on the second to last drive. Should have been another big play. Crabs has had a rough season, but yesterday I can't fault him for too much.
As I said...its just like they in different booked let alone the same page.
As for the TD...all he had to do was pull the ball over the line. He voluntarily rolled out of bounds.

I want to point out the lack of awareness of our offensive players. It seems like they rarely make that smart heads up play that gets that extra advantage. Situational awareness has been very lacking and Kap has been leading the charge. We all know Vernon's sucks and now Crabtree is getting into that category. Of course, it is difficult when Kap is throwing off-target but it is getting very frustrating altogether.
I think Stevie Johnson and Boldin have been good with situational awareness.
Our coaches also seem to have terrible situational awareness. Look at what Fisher did with our rookie center. If our opponent has an inexperienced player at a position, it seems like we purposely stay away from attacking that spot. We have the tie locked and Kap doesn't protect the ball.
SMH at our coach's and players' situational awareness.
Sometimes I wonder if Vernon's struggles are due to Kaepernick's passes thrown with no touch on them. He throws bullets that only a handful of receivers are comfortable catching. He hardly puts any air under his deep throws, which look flat. If you look at Peyton Manning or Russell Wilson, most of their crazy completions are thrown on balls with a lot of air, arcing up and coming down gently. That gives their receivers a better chance to make a play on the ball before it lands.
Kap's rifling every single damn pass is getting to be ridiculous now. Thought he improved that in preseason but it seems like he quickly has lost that from his priority list when things get intense. The possession just before our last possession where he rifled a slant pass with Crabs wide open was uncalled for. He could have floated that in there because Crabs was open by two yards.
I never had too much of a problem with the rifling of passes, but there was one instance yesterday when it was totally not necessary. Crabs was running a slant and had room for RAC. By Kap firing that ball, there is little margin for error on the throw since the WR has no time to adjust to the ball. The throw led Crabs too much and Crabs dropped it. I'm putting that more on Kap though.

seems to me that all season long, this coaching staff is doing nothing according to our strenght.. instead, they seem to be playing for the stats of the individuals.. we all know Gore is in his last sets of wheels, and not the same player anymore, yet we continue to give him carries that are not necessary... his talented backup, Hyde, only had 2 carries ALL GAME LONG???
and once recognized as the best OL in football has turned into a BIG BUNCH OF WOOS!!.. but let me not blame them for the loss, with 1st and goal (sounds familiar), how can the same coaching staff call the same stupid plays to score??
a stupid pass to Crabtree in the corner, another FAILURE by the passing combo of KAEPERTREE!!!
we have the most physical one on one receiver in the NFL (in Boldin) yet, this Miami Hat wearing Diva (Kaep) continues to wanna prove something by trying to hoook up with Sorry Crab.. why not try getting the ball to Boldin??
then, instead of getting a simple winning TD score to Frank Gore up the gut, we call a play to roll out Kaepernick and his long winding release to once again, hit try to score with a pass .. to ?? Gore??
last but not the least, why QB sneak inside the 2 when again, we have Frank Gore and his HOGS???

Here are the 49er run plays in the 2nd half:
1st drive:
- Gore for +14 (called back for offensive holding on Boone; not sure why I listed this)
- Gore for +3
2nd drive:
- Gore +4
- Gore +3
- Gore +3
- Hyde +13
- Gore +2
4th Q:
3rd drive:
(after two false starts)
- Gore +3
(bad punt, STL kick FG to go up 13-10)
49ers don't run the ball again.
With the sacks just killing drives left and right, I thought the 49ers should have stayed committed to the run. Marcus Martin was doing his impression of a turnstile trying to pass pro and perhaps it would have helped him to get his bearings if he was allowed to fire out and run block more often. However, as I look at the boxscore I see just how detrimental those sacks were and how it helped to take the running game away. But if they run more, maybe they don't give up as many sacks.

Marvin, I really feel that the league has figured out Roman. This makes it next to impossible to properly evaluate our players on offense.
Sure, the Oline stunk. But I don't believe they're actually that bad. Teams are scheming against us in such a way that we're in a lose/lose situation. Even when pass plays work, it's always by the slimmest of margins. We never fool anyone. And I believe that our offense, including Kap, is better than that

That's how I feel. This offense has 100% been figured out...maybe when we look at the tape this week, we can view it from a DC's eyes (or watch the the defensive alignments and motions and adjustments made by the "green dot" player to see how they are adjusting pre-snap).

This...and it was a weak holding call on Boone

Geometry isn't that hard to figure out, I'm pretty sure most NFL coaches graduated high school.
