Are the Wr's overrated?

Not sure I would say overrated but I would just say slow. And being slow can't get it done vs Seattle unless your coaching staff runs some bunch or stacked formations to create separation. Roman doesn't seem to do that. Almost every pass CK threw the wr;s were draped. When they made catches they were tackled immediately and didn't get any YAC. Crabtree, Lloyd and SJ are all average wr's. Boldin is the only above average great wr on the roster. But speed isn't his strong suit. And CK isn't throwing accurately enough to throw Boldin passes in tight windows when he can out body defenders. Niners need to find a TY Hilton type of wr to go along with this group. And last years draft was loaded with top level wr's with speed and size. Many of them are having great rookie years. .

Exactly why we should of took advantage of that in the draft.....hopefully we can address that in the next draft..

only Crabs is overrated (mainly his hands), but he'd still easily be a 1k receiver with a different scheme/qb
No.

The QB is.

This.

SF has excellent WRs. Look around the league and compare depth charts. Hell, some teams would even love to have a guy like Patton or Ellington.. who can barely get any snaps over the very good trio of Crabtree, SJ, and Q.

uummm....speed. Seattle, Raven's, and Giants ALL have. .. or had a WR that can take the top off a D AND create seperation. Who between Crab, Boldin and Johnson or Lloyd can??? You kidding yourself if you think other wise. Bad O line and slow receivers dont mix and to top it off ALL of them are shorter than than the whole Seattle CB's so you can't even throw jump balls.

We could have AJ Green and Floyd at WR and with our s**tty QB play and offensive scheme people would still call them overrated.

Our OLine can't generate a running game and our WR and QB suffers during the passing situations.

The WRs aren't overated, it's just that we are using the wrong ones on running the right routes..

Lloyd and VD can take the top off.
you look at baltimore receivers in 2012, and we now have Boldin, Jacoby Jones is basically warming the bench and Torrey Smith had no impact on the game.

its funny, we used to have no WRs, now we have WRs but now theyre not the right type we'll get a speedster and then it will be something else

speed is one of the most overrated things in football, Niners never had a speed burner yet they had 2 out of 3 best WRs to play the game up until calvin johnson showed up.

but even then...we HAD speed just two years ago.

we had a guy with fast speed. in 2012 we were WR-strapped and gave that guy a whole of TWO TARGETS
we let him go, he went to carolina and had a career year utilized as a deep threat. his name was ted ginn jr.

our WR core, counting TEs, is one of the best in the leagues on paper. easily.
