The OPI was still just one call, and nowhere close to volume on terrible calls against the 49ers in the first 3 weeks. Overall, there needs to be a system to keep these refs accountable on game changing calls like these. Has to be a review system or something, because seeing blown calls like this every game is infuriating. Refs shouldn't be dictating games.
that OPI was the correct call

Yeah, they where trying pretty hard
At first I thought they were gonna go with the Kurt Warner angle, being undrafted and out of the league.

Kaep had his best game of the season thus far, IMO.. but our D stepped up in the 2nd half and that was the difference..
Our blocking scheme still sucks in my opinion, not giving enuff space for our RBs to pick or find the hole that they should run to... and this was the obvious problem when we couldn't score inside the 2 yard line.. Our backs just line up too close to the line that they can't get any leverage once the whole gets plugged.
Instead of blocking with power, mauling the DL, we get too cute by running traps... TRAPS inside the 2 yard line against the jumbo defensive line up?????

I didn't see what happened to Reid. But I saw Dahl get held around his neck on that play.
Reid's call was suspect, and Dahl was basically put into a head lock.

Any rams fan who blames the loss on this call (whether it was the correct call or not) is seriously grasping.
1st off, as posted, that touchdown ran in should have been called back. Maybe they score maybe they don't, but if you want to make a big deal about bad calls, how about bad non calls? We can also talk about the blatant PI on Crabs on 3rd down.
2nd,and this is huge, THIS WAS ONLY THE 2ND QUARTER! Call or no call, a good team would have ended that half 14-3. Instead they gave up a huge touchdown.
So even if the Rams defense giving up a TD super late in the 2nd was a direct result of a call not going there way, why did they only have like 16 yards of offense in the 2nd half up until we gave up some playing prevent?
Are you gonna sit there and tell me that that ONE! call affected you guys for 30 more minutes? It annoyed me to no end to wake up and see an article with Jeff Fisher saying that the penalty was "hard to overcome". That's a coach making up excuses for bad coaching plain and simple.
The rams were bad last night. They had every opportunity to keep the game in their favor. Teams don't score 24 unanswered points because of one bad call.

Whether it was a correct call by definition, I don't think anyone wants to see that called in a game. It was similar to the ridiculous OPI Lloyd got called for against Dallas.

Dahl should've tapped out!!!
If you watch the replay of this, after Dahl gets choked out and on the floor, he tries to get back up and someone on the OL ran to congratulate the RB and shoved Dahl back to the floor. It was actually kinda funny LOL

Like you guys said it was like a downfield block prior to the ball being released. I don't know if he was expecting the ball to go to someone else or he was just trying to run over/push through the defender. Really swung the moment but you guys listed the other penalties against the 9ers that werent called. In today's NFL every team's fans has a right to b***h about the refs because they make bad calls so often on all teams. Can't use it as an excuse anymore because there are holds not called on every play. Every team gets the shaft at some point, some teams more than others. People might say well the OPI could have changed the game. Well so could have a hold against Dahl or Reid or Skuta whoever else on that play and maybe that changes it to 3-0 and they don't ever make it 10-0 or 14-0. Maybe Kap should have got flagged for grounding or Staley for illegally catching the ball but that would have just offset the horse collar. We didn't score on the drive anyways. Maybe the Jenkins PI on Crabtree changes the game. Also, the swing at Hyde, then the ball thrown in his face then whatever happened afterward... should have been 3 personal fouls but doesnt matter only cost then 1 inch 1 or 3 called. Is that fair? A missed hold here and there from both sides could easily change the game. I'd rather they just keep the flags in the pants unless it's obvious. I'd get rid of all these automatic first downs especially when it's 10 yards or more. I mean illegal hands to the face automatic first down really?

I love the people who say the 80 yard TD wouldn't have happened. Pshhhh we had all 3 time outs we would've taken shots down field. Jenkins just had his clown shoes on and Lloyd made him look like a fool. So glad we kept Lloyd, dude was silky smooth on that play. Perfect catch, perfect throw, perfect timing.

Considering the zebras still owe us for Frank's giant run vs. Da Bears with the phantom Boldin-hold, I'm ok with us getting a ticky-tack call in our favor for once.

"Officials are held accountable for their calls. They are graded on every play of every game," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.
There is a review system, the refs are graded, maybe some of you should do a little research before making statements that make you look like you just started following football yesterday.

Although he can be annoying on MNF, a part of me thinks that Gruden is being PAID to be over-the-top with his commentary. A part of it is Guden just being himself, but I think some of it just the job he has. He's still a really smart offensive minded coach IMHO.
