How do we continue to incorporate 3 and 4 WR sets without sacrificing ball control? I have seen enough from the 4 WR's to know they are all capable and can make positive contributions. The question is how do we accomplish it? Suggestions?

Pile up points with the no huddle and quick passes with Kap ether in the shotgun or doing 3-step drops (no deeper) because our O-line isn't holding up for much longer than that. Keep a healthy mix of the run in there and play action. We can pound the ball in the second half. Keep in mind, this isn't conservative, run the ball three times and punt type of offense. I mean the creative running game we saw in 2011. We also need to get more of those shorter passes into the offense on first down (too much intermediate to deep stuff). They should be easy passes to the flats to running backs, quick slants to Crabtree, as well as easy passes to Vance McDonald. We need to find out once and for all do we have a number two TE or not in McDonald. Call easy pass plays for him (where he is the first option) to get him involved.

We also need to use Ellington on those deep routes.
I'd like to see more double slants myself. I do not think there is a team in the league that could defend them, with any regularity or sustained success. It could help set up the deep ball. That would help unload the box and allow Gore or Hyde a little more room to operate. I think a quick tempo would help our offense immensely.

This is not meant to be negative toward Kaep. I just want to compare some of the best of CFB QBs vs Kaep. Combined with the above comment link to Andrew Luck's success running an offense coordinated by Greg Roman.

Greg Roman was never their OC. David Shaw was. In '09 he was their run game coordinator along with coaching the TEs and OTs. In 2010 he was named assistant head coach and continued coaching TEs and OTs
