Teams are just challenging Kap to beat them and they know he can't so they're stacking the line. They're right though, Kap can't and won't be able to beat the opposing defenses.

I disagree. Kap has shown many times that he can indeed carry this team. He may not be Manning or Brady, but given a sound offensive gameplan, he can execute and move the chains.
Our losses this season have primarily come from penalties, poor defensive play, and inability to adjust at halftime. This is a coaching issue, not a player issue.
Kap played a good game on Sunday. He was near perfect in the first half, and helped mount a comeback in the 2nd except:
3rd down -- great screen to RB but male gigalo Martin fails to block to end drive.
Boldin called for a bs head butt.
Kap is not the issue. Coaching and defense is.

Yeah but he failed to make a comeback in the SB, failed against the Seahawks in the NFC championship, failed Sunday night against Da Bears, couldn't do anything with time left against the Cards...He hasn't stepped up in the big games and now it's happening in the regular season. Joe would have done it, no excuses!

...and I agree that Kap can move the chains and can make plays but he can't win when the game is on the line.

I don't buy it about Seattle. I watched all their games last year and Russell was protected. For instance second and long, hand it Lynch, he gets his slant out in .33 seconds, time for one read. He scrambles and saves plays, and throws up rainbows and luck has been with him. They do not have the sophistication of Bill Walsh's west coast system. The best thing going for Seattle is their D and home crowd. They were so dominant and we came a few inches from taking them down.

Why is there so many threads on this????? the answer is simple Roman and Harbaugh have a certain strategy and philosophy to how there offense is run. There plan we don't overwhelm our QB with a complicated offense we run a grade school type offense that will compliment a top 5 defense. The defense does it's job we get a small lead then run out the clock on you and win. That is there strategy, now that the defense is struggling there having a identity crisis and think they have to throw every play to win. There offense does not work in today's NFL the 49ers best bet as hard is it will be is to tell Harbaugh we are going to fire Roman and bring in a real OC please stay out of his way and let him run the offense how he wants. That is the only way i see this team improving the offense has been on a grade school level with Roman.

I would like that to happen, that is what should have happen after last year.

Comparing anyone to Joe Montana is a cop out, IMO. There will be no one like him, as has been proven over the many years since his retirement (see players like Manning, Brady, Young, Favre).
With that said, the failed Superbowl wasn't Kap. It was technically his "rookie" year, and his offensive coordinator left him out to dry with a piss poor game plan. Considering that Baltimore did a wonderful job of placing a QB spy on him, it was baffling to see that Roman had no backup plan, no ability to adjust, no thoughts on how to counter. One can argue that once Kap took matters into his own hands and started running around like a chicken with its head cut off, the team put itself in a position to win, only to come up short.
Seattle is a tough spot, and Kap has not fared well against them I agree. Im hoping the more comfortable he gets as a player the better he ll be at handling that crowd.
I'll stick to my original thoughts. I think Kap is more than capable of leading this team. I just think he needs to right offensive philosophy to do it. The read option is a waste, but you saw this past week by spreading out the offense, he was able to progress through his reads and find the open gaps. I hope Roman keeps this philosophy with a little bit more emphasis on run.

This!
This is a misnomer....we have actually been a top10 pass offense in regards to ypa, a top 10 pass offense in terms of qb rating and have been a top 5 pass offense in limiting turn overs. So believe it or we are a fairly efficient passing attack. We have just choose to not have the attempts to have the high yards per game.

No doubt Lynch is a HUGE cog in that O. But, RW contributes just a bit as well (for example, running pretty straight ahead in the final minutes last Sunday for the 11th game-winning drive of his young career)
