I just don't understand how he could be any worse than Dahlhouse. Does Dahl bring more value because of ST play??? If so I hope we don't keep Osgood, Ventrone, Spillman and Dahl just for ST because 3 of them are just plain useless on D. I hope they see something in McCray. I just hate Dahl I can't stand him I think he's a waste of a roster spot and he had been nowhere near his coverage responsibility in the preseason. Cut him please!!!

Remember, the first round of cuts don't have to clear waivers to be eligible for PS. So Campbell and Wylie can be signed to the PS asap.

Makes me think they might cut Dahl and keep McCray.

tolzien? Pryor? Daniels? Grossman?

Seahawks QBs are Wilson, Tavaris Jackson, Terrelle Pryor and BJ Daniels. One is bound to be cut. I'd take any of those QBs over our backups just about plus they have the inside scoop on Seattle.

Based on Vic's presser Dahl would finish the game if either starting safety got injured in a game. Sad to say he's making the team in all likelihood

Not yet but if he has a huge 4th preseason game it could be another webzone preseason hero

I do not think that the team has a practice squad. I do not think the team can assembly the practice squad until after the waiver time for the second round of cuts has passed.

But, I might be wrong.

If Connor Shaw, another Gamecock product, gets cut or hits the PS out of Cleveland, snap him up!

Kid's tough as nails, an accurate passer, cool in the pocket, and if he has to scramble, he can do it well ala Kap. Also, smart and a quick study of the playbook. In his limited pre-season play for Cleveland, he out played all the backups. But the FO bought Johnny Foosball and could never let Connor play ahead of him even though he is a much better QB.
Shaw does nothing but win games. Check him out. Someone will get him and he will turn out to be a good one.

Davis was mentally retarded and Sheets was too small and injury prone.

I like Winston, I don't care what anybody says. Even if we cut him next week, I'll still like him. Even if he is cut and nobody picks him up.
I like the way he runs, he has great size, burst, vision. Not saying he is worthy of a roster spot, but he is 1,000,000 times better than Hampton and Smith, and in the preseason at least, he has been fun to watch.

And, Winston is better than LMJ as backup depth.

Harbaugh and Baalke are not going to come to that conclusion based on 4 snaps in the 4th quarter of a preseason game. I feel LMJ has been with the team for 2 years. He's entering his 3rd year and the coaches are going to put a lot of weight into that when equating LMJs value to the team.

James has no runningback skills. He basically a KR specialist with some 3rd down back experience. I would not be afraid to keep him in a strictly KR role and replace him in the depth chart with Winston. I've seen enough of Winston to come to that conclusion and hence the FO for letting Hampton go.

Dead serious. Yea Gabbert showed some life of being slightly decent but I still maintain very little faith in him. Did you see the previous 2 preseason games? He looked worse than Colt McCoy last year which was horrendous!

Sorry Gabberts on the uptick in my book. He's learning the offense and a change of scenery appears to be doing him so good. His accuracy and operation in the pocket during the Chargers was encouraging. He's been the best backup we've had, and the only one to score. Make no mistake he made some throws to get us to the endzone. It really comes down to this 4th game and he's going to get an extended look now that McBLT was cut. If he regresses then I think I might agree with you but if he continues to improve I think you have to be encouraged.

I think Hampton being cut had alot more to do with Hampton himself then it had to do with Winston. He's been with the team for 3 years and he never panned out. I doubt the team was like "WINSTON HAS ARRIVED@!!@#!@#". That's just not the way the coaches work. Notice the depth chart came out this morning and Smith was dead last behind LMJ and Smith. Winston has to show up and BIG in this last game if he's going to have any chance to make it over LMJ.
