I would be happy with a conditional 3rd that plays out into a 2nd if he or the other teams benefits from it say he makes the pro bowl or they make the playoffs, win X number of games.

Not if he gets traded and makes $551k more than what the 49ers were willing to pay him/fined him.

He has zero leverage, nor do we even want to trade him. It's an offer to good to refuse or fuc# off!

2nd. He may play guard for us but any team knows that he'll make a good LT. We've seen him shutdown one of the best pass rushers in the league (Quinn). If im Baalke, im not taking anything less than a 2nd.

As stated above, unless an offer too good to refuse comes along, I say keep him sitting on the curb. Nothing against a guy trying to make some extra cash, but I'm beyond tired of people signing contracts and then crying for a new one two years later.
Once he sees that missing a year will hurt his future earning potential he will come to his senses. It especially pisses me off because the Niners' FO has been nothing short of stellar with the way they treat players. They have proven time and time again that if you are productive player and loyal to the team, you WILL be taken care of. Bowman, Willis, Gore, Miller, VD, Culliver, Brock, Staley, Kap, A. Davis; with Crabs and Iupati likely being next in line for new contracts.
Bring your ass to camp. Play well for your team. Get paid.
Why is that so freaking hard to understand?

I'd take a 2nd round pick. We can replace him with that. Nobody will give up a 1st rounder. I think that is fair. We aren't going to re do his deal anyway. Plus we can't afford to extend him at the price he wants. Still I would rather just have him for the next 2 years and play it out. Then probably lose him.

I doubt that very much considering the sheer number of teams that BADLY need help at guard. Teams have been showing less and less reluctance to drop high 1st rounders on guards and those are unproven college players, not a young guy who's already done well and has the versatility that Boone possesses.
People underestimated the value the 49ers would get back for Alex Smith as well. I think Boone is worth at minimum, a 2nd round pick, whether he is worth anymore than that, depends on how desperate a team is I suppose.

Hilarious thread.
Some Alex Smith backers are talking about a 1st rounder for a guard who finished as pff's #40 guard last season. You do realize that Smith got the Niners a 2nd and a conditional 3rd round pick? For a f**kin' NFL Starting QB. Boone is an above-average Guard.
You guys are delusional.

The same "f'ing" starting QB that most in the media didn't think that the 49ers would get more than a 5th round pick for?
All it takes is one desperate team to overbid and right now, there's A LOT of desperate teams starved for starting guards.

Best answer is to wait him out till he reports, f**k all these other teams.
