Does anyone else see this as a shoot out! High 30's for both teams I think.

We NEED to do something about our O Line situation, if we do that the rest will fall in line...

I'll go 38-35. Niners win. Their D is garbage and our D looks to take a giant step back this year.

Based on what?
Granted- Wilhoite / Borland replacing Bowman for half the year is a downgrade, but only because Bowman is such a beast. Wilhoite and Borland can play. Or is it our corners you're worried about? They are young and unproven but TBH I like our corners right now. People can say what they want about Cully but the coaches have him starting above Cox and Cook for a reason. Ward's looked capable in the slot, Cox can play the slot, Cook is more than decent for a 4th corner, Johnson's been showing well... I get that they're not elite, and that they're mostly young and somewhat unproven, like I said, but they're pretty fast and look to be getting better. Plus with the talent and experience of Reid and Bethea playing behind them and us having a better rotation in the front seven with Tank, Lemonier, even Lynch maybe being able to rush off the bench... I don't see where you see this "giant step back" coming from.
edit: i'm conceding it might take a few weeks for the new starters to gel into their roles. Still don't see us giving up 5 TDs week one though.

The 1st team D has looked suspect early on in the last 2 preseason games. Denver and San Diego pretty much moved the ball at will. Granted we were missing some key starters but we'll also be down out 2 best defenders week 1. Now I consider Dallas to have one of the best offenses in the NFL but their D is one of the worst. I'm sure our young players will be great in time but who in the heck on our team will cover Dez and Witten?
