These guys are going to be battling for the starting Center position. Who would you like to see win the job in camp? Why?
I can see the argument for both players. Kilgore has been around a few years and has experience. However I am hoping Marcus Martin wins the job because I believe he has more upside and we have 4 solid guys around him to help him in his rookie year. Next year we might be without both Guards, so it could be more difficult for him.
Thoughts?

i dont really care who wins. just want both to be healthy, would hate for 1 guy to get cus the other guy missed a lot of camp and preseason time, would rather he earned it.

Kilgore will win this job barring injury.

I'm hoping Martin starts. Goodwin started over Kilgore last year. If Martin is not better than that then he's not the prospect we think he is.

I agree with this logic. If Martin doesn't win the job, that implies more about his inability than it implies about Kilgore's ability.

I disagree. Kilgore has had 3 seasons in this offense. He's got a distinct advantage, regardless of how talented Martin might be. Kilgore winning the job isn't necessarily a reflection on Martin's talent or potential, especially considering he only played one year of center in college. I feel that Kilgore should be the prohibitive favorite to win the starting spot at center because of his experience advantage. If Martin beats him out, great, but if he doesn't, I don't think that is necessarily a slight against Martin.

And Brock didn't get a chance to start until an injury gave him the opportunity. Its not always so cut and dry and its tough to tell what the specific reasoning was for Goodwin starting over Kilgore and whether or not it had more to do with maintaining stability and the integrity of the OL. Now there's no default guy, so hopefully the best performer, whoever it happens to be, wins out.

This is true. They like to hold on to these guys (Brock, Jerod-Eddie, Ian Williams) and they usually turn out to be solid players.
But the fact that Kilgore wasn't clearly better than Goodwin last year worries me. If this Martin guy is who we think he is, he will start.
