I don't see much value in trading LMJ. I think most teams would wait on him being cut. Hunter has greater value and would net more in a trade but I don't see one coming.

I would agree except for the fact the Cowboys traded a 6th for Rolanod Mcclain. You know, the retired former Raider LB.
So, there are idiot franchises that may part ways with something for James. Not saying a lot, but at least a 6th, maybe a 4th if its the Cowboys

With lattimore and Hyde coming aboard there's not enough balls to spread around. Both KH and LMJ will get very few carries and have little trade value. I can see them both being cut and getting picked up by the Raiders/Cowboys.

true but a mediocre returner with experience is less risk than someone who has never done it in an NFL game. We shall see in training camp anyway if someone can step up and take over

Neither player has any trade value that makes sense. Hunter will probably play out his contract then who knows what, and LMJ will probably either play out his contract and leave in FA or he'll get cut at some point. Been watching game rewind the last few days and LMJ's ball security was even worse than I remembered (and I've been highly critical of him for it). He had at about half a dozen fumbles that didn't make it to the stat sheet as technically fumbles (muffs, fumbles right after his knee hit the ground, etc). The guy fumbled or muffed the ball on almost 20% of his touches last season. He just has no place on an NFL roster unless he can fix his fumbling problem, and I've never seen any player have as much of an issue as he does.

I wish they both could be niners too but I just think were so loaded at that position that it would behoove us to get more depth at say cb?? I just don't see our leapords changing their spots anytime soon.. Meaning I don't think roman will overnight create plays designed for them and Kap won't magically start floating bubble screens to lmj. They already Have enough new weapons.who knows tho because currently Kendal IS the number 2 back( and a good one at that), and LMJ is our returner so I guess I can't see either being traded until a better player is in place. With that said I could see us holding a team with a injured starter for randsome mid season once we have a better returner or number 2 back with enough reps to be confident.

who is gonna trade for a back-up RB these days? they are a dime a dozen. Hunter and LMJ have far more value to the Niners than any other team.

Agree. We're in win-now mode and shouldn't think about trading any players that can help us this year. If they leave next year, so be it. I want that 6th ring.

If LMJ is our best option as a punt returner this coaching staff is getting overpaid. I would rather rush 11 everytime and just take chances on where the ball ends up. LMJ scares me everytime hes looks up for the ball. Sorry. Probably off topic

Kendall Hunter is the only proven running back behind Gore, so why is he even being mentioned? The only scenario I see that happening, is if Hyde and or Lattimore both come out of the gates turning heads, then maybe we can put KH on the trade block like AD was last season. LMJ is the only one that is on the chopping block IMO, but someone mentioned Hyde and Lattimore can both be disappointments just as likely as becoming stars... It is unknown..

nah ...soon as his contract squabbles are in the rear view mirror, Vernon will go back to being one of the team leaders and a consistent redzone weapon for our attack
LOL - He is soft and is all about his money.. He can go to the Browns or Redskins or something
