Ellington received post-minicamp praise from head coach Jim Harbaugh and Kaepernick.
"Bruce has been amazing out here," Kaepernick said. "He's picked thing up very quickly. Good route runner. Very good feel for the game and he's made plays when we've given him the opportunity."

from 49er.com players listed alphabetically
TE Asante Cleveland Tall prospect who is learning while playing behind established players at the position.
WR Bruce Ellington Has ability to be a unique chess piece for play-caller Greg Roman.
G/C Dillon Farell Another young interior line option, acquired as an undrafted rookie free agent.
QB Kory Faulkner Only rookie quarterback on the roster, personally scouted by Harbaugh and saw least amount of action in team drills.
G Fonoti Fouimalo Recognized for perfect attendance in offseason work.
TE Kevin Greene Earned a roster spot after solid audition at rookie minicamp.
CB Dontae Johnson Looked impressive in practice, especially when keeping close coverage on Boldin in red zone drills
LB Aaron Lynch Impressive size. Could he be a factor in year one while playing with a deep pass-rushing group?
C Marcus Martin Second-team center, has the size and speed to play in year one, but will age (20) be a factor?
S James McCray Could be the undrafted player to make the 53-man roster, had offseason pass breakups and interceptions to start the conversation.
FB Trey Millard One of three rookie draft picks entering the league with major knee injury in college. The Oklahoma product did not practice with the 49ers this summer.
DT Kaleb Ramsey Sacked Kaepernick in college, looks to show injury problems of the past are exactly that - a thing of the past.
CB Keith Reaser Fifth-round draft pick is recovering from major knee injury and figures to redshirt like Lattimore did in 13.
LB Shayne Skov Knows bulk of 49ers defense from his time playing for Vic Fangio at Stanford. Will that put him ahead of Borland when roster cuts are made?
LB Chase Thomas Signed after tryout at rookie camp, played for Harbaugh and Fangio at Stanford.
DB Jimmie Ward First-round pick did not practice this offseason. Foot injury should not be a problem by the time training camp starts.
