The Oakland Raiders will travel more miles on their trip to England than The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel in the entire 2014 season.

Having St Louis in the NFC West is a geographical joke.

Well considering the Saints, Panthers, and Falcons used to be in the NFC West it's not that bad. Having St Louis in the division is still stupid, but who would take their place?

Yeah, when there was 28 teams, the NFC West and AFC Central only had 4 teams. Carolina and Jacksonville were added to balance it out at 30 (15 teams in each conference).
The 2002 realignment happened because the addition of the Texans (and the browns coming back) brough the league to 32 teams. The NFL focused on geographical (moving teams to cut down on travel time) and rivalries (which is why the Rams are still in the West and Dallas is still in the East, same with Kansas City in the AFC West).

Cowboys won't happen cuz of the rivalries. I think if the chargers or raiders swapped with the Rams that would work best

Having a team in St. Louis and none in LA is perhaps the real joke.
