lots of speculation about this topic. the good thing is we're pretty close to finding out. all in all it depends on the fans. seattles stadium is built to hold in the noise, but the fans still have to be willing to make the noise, and know when to do it.

The shehawks stadium wasn't built to hold sound. Those hangers were built to cover majority of the fans from the rain..

ok maybe they didnt plan it, but it turned out that the stadium held in crowd noise unlike any venue in the league. better?

they did plan it. there is an article interviewing the architect saying as much. it was per Paul Allen...

People have been saying for years since the first renderings came out that the stadium looked like it would be quiet and the anti-Seattle. These claims were baseless but began to be accepted as if they were facts. So here is an article proving that isn't true.

The article sounds sensationalized. There are only like four sentences that even talk about Levi Stadium in the entire thing.

I hope it's loud, but I hardly consider the article proof of anything.

Not true at all, that stadium was specifically designed to hold sound. Why? Because that's what Paul Allen wanted...his primary goal was a loud, college-like stadium similar to the way Husky Stadium was. So those giant patio overhangs serve a dual purpose: yes, to provide protection for the fans, but also to prevent sound from escaping to open air. So the seating bowl is very steep with seats close to the field--like a cup--and the overhangs are a lid that keeps the sound focused downward.

Exactly...sure, Arrowhead has a larger capacity, but it's an open-air relic from the multipurpose mausoleums from the 70s, while C-Link is a partially enclosed, modern stadium that was designed with being very loud as the primary goal. To me the noise Chiefs fans make is much more impressive, not to mention their fans don't have something as corny, contrived, and just flat-out stupid as the "12".

I have a couple of issues with this technical diagram.

-- It implies that sound originates from the field and goes outward.
-- It makes no mention of the "hole" right above the stadium.
-- It makes no mention of the large reflective wall on one side of the stadium.
-- It looks like it was drawn by Cookie Monster.

It's bound to happen just as much as people screaming their lungs out while we're on offense lol

You are %100 incorrect, the stadiums designer stated in an article that it was designed to do exactly that. To capture the crowd noise and direct it back on to the playing field.

I actually do wish they'd go back to penalizing teams for loud stadiums. It becomes a contest of who can have the loudest stadium otherwise because of the impact it has on the game.

I have no interest in being the 12th man...I just want to see my team win.

But until they do, I'll be as loud as I can be when our defense is on the field.
