In all honesty the O-line can neither pass protect nor run block at this juncture. Stacking the box or not, we will just have to make it work, if 5 linemen can't get it done, just put in 6 linemen or even 7. Use quantity to overcome the O-line's current poor play for now.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this but go read Grant Cohn's recent article where he calls out Roman. The 49ers aren't running their bread and butter plays hardly at all anymore, when they do, they're gaining yards. It's strange how horrible Roman has been, passing focused, RZ blunders and ignoring our best run plays. No wonder Staley called him out, the OL will be much better if we stop acting like we're somebody we're not.
Honestly, this is beyond play-calling. It is a seachange in the overall offensive philosophy. To me, that stems from Harbaugh, Roman is only one of his pawns if you will to call the plays within this new philosophy. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way saying Roman is great with his play-calling neither. But, is obvious the overall offensive approach has been changed. You see it in every game, 1st down throw, 2nd down throw, etc, etc...And don't forget, Harbaugh can hear every single play being called through his headphones, he knows exactly what is going on and indeed has the power to change any play call he sees fit.
