Bruce Ellington is not a 49er!

Hope we can trade LMJ for at least a 7th next year or in 2016. Would be nice to get something for him since we're probably going to cut him if we can't land a deal.
This guy sucks. Nothing but a midget.

He catches with his body... big pet peeve of mine.

That was always Josh Morgans downfall... and the difference between Vernon Davis and Jimmy Graham.

Its an aspect of the game I never really paid attention to until we drafted Crabtree... thats a true receiver right there.

Genus has been Ellington's biggest cheerleader on these forums and others for a LONG time. He's just trolling you.

Are you sure we're talking about the same guy? Bruce Ellington is praised for his consistent hands, not sure where body catcher is coming from. The guy attacks the ball in the air, true to his basketball background, rarely does he double catch or use his body to catch it with. You can criticize him for not being a fully developed route runner and needing quite a bit of work in that area, for not giving maximum effort as a run blocker but I haven't seen anyone question his hands or catching ability.

Ball Skills-2-Appears to have natural hands and rarely allows ball into frame. Plucks on the run without breaking stride. Above-average body control and adjusts well to throws outside of the strike zone. Easy track of ball over his shoulder.

I mean, 10 people can watch the same film and come to ten different conclusion's but there's overwhelming praise for Ellington's hands which have been very reliable. He's definitely not what I'd consider a body catcher.

Strong hands; snatches the ball out of the air, can make catches with arms extended away from his body

Bursts off the line. Eliminates cushion and threatens vertically. Field-fast -- accelerates in a hurry and turns over a fluid stride. Highly athletic. Excellent balance and agility. Gets in and out of cuts quickly. Good hands.

Best attribute is his body control and hand-eye coordination when the ball is in the air. Shows the ability to contort his body to adjust and possesses very natural hands and a surprisingly wide catch radius to extend and pluck. Can track over either shoulder, as well as turn back and time his leap well to out-jump taller, bigger defenders.

1. "The things Ellington has going for him are the things that are not teachable...Possesses rare hand-eye coordination and body control...Tracks the ball well and uses his hands to catch...Wins jump balls despite his 'short' stature."

He is also a tremendous competitor that flashes natural hands.
