He might turn out to be the best pass blocking interior lineman the team has had in a while. The 49ers NEED that.

Any updates on the status of his rehab?
Is this guy a viable option to compete for starting OG next year?

Yes... next year, when we don't resign Iupati, he should have a good shot vs. Looney.

lol. I think he has been expendable for a while. Marcus Martin looks really good at Center, I wouldn't be surprised if he is opening day Center in 2015, or at least LG. Though I want Brandon Thomas at LG, I think he was drafted for that reason.

he's going to be our starter in 2016. Next year, our interior line will look like Kilgore-Martin-boone.

Next year: Staley/Kilgore/MMartin//Boone/Davis
Future: Boone/Thomas/MMartin/Kilgore/Davis (with Looney and JMartin)
Staley isn't old, so if he can continue...alls good...maybe Boone moves on.

It's going to be nice to have some starters on some mid-round rookie deal contracts. This team has to save money every where they can. Kilgore/Martin/Looney/Thomas looks like a good interior. Maybe Alex Boone will get back to his 2012 level of playing next season as well. It's too bad he's entrenched as a starter now because he would've been the perfect swing tackle.

This is a Baalke move! Leaves room for some high priced skill positions! This is one area where Baalke and Walsh differ in drafting...Walsh always left room for receivers, QBs and DBs who were a bit more expensive.
