He is still bust and worst play then his footy still hurt? We must cut him.. we can't blame on Baalke because, it is hard to choice for many players college.. Baalke did draft for Tarrt. He is pretty good to hit and good read better than Wards! Good job Baalke

dumb idea to try to convert him to slot last yr, dude is a natural FS and sounds like that's where he's playing most so far this camp
THIS. Who bright idea was that?
He wasn't being converted to slot. We had so many CB injuries they put him in there to patch up the D and let him learn a new skillset.
i heard they put him in the slot just to get him experience because when he finally gets the start the FS will be covering the slot anyways.

Another 49er flop 1st round pick. 49ers coulda had an even sweeter roster but the ups drafted this dude who is too slow to play CB and too small/frail to play safety. Unbelievable how i hated this pick and said it then during the 2014 draft and saying it now one week away from week 1 2015. Waste of a pick.

Do you find it concerning that he was playing in the 4th quarter with the C-team?

San Diego may be a team that would be a good to deal with players we no longer needed nor try to re-sign next year..
Vernon Davis, Jimmy Ward and Boone for their 2nd (2016) and 2nd (2017)...

Ward should be out there playing, I want to get another look at him at slot CB with the 1st team. He had one bad game last year, rest of the games he was average, and improved as the year went on. He also wasn't healthy and playing a step slow.
Reports from camp stated he's flying around the field. We spent.a 1st rd pick on him, he needs to play. Didn't light the world on fire last year, but he wasn't Mike Rumph either. Put him out there.

Agreed, some players take longer to develope then others... we spent a good draft pick on Ward and bast on everything that happened last year to him dosnt make him a bust like RGIII.

IDK man I'm still Baffled about the drafting of him. He had no true position. You do not spend a 30th overall pick on a guy to be a backup when Reid/Bethea were already on hand and Cully/Cox/Brock were already on hand. I dont understand and have NEVER understood Bsalke's draft philosophy its like he drafts for 3 years down the road instead of plug and play development learn on the fly.
Bottom line waste of a pick/roster spot.

Too slow yet with a stress fracture in his foot he runs a 4.45 40.
8 games played in his career yet already a flop.
Too small/frail to play yet is bigger than Tyrann Mathieu.

I tend to agree. I didnt understand the pick because Ward LACKS a position. He's too slow for NFL CB and he's too small for NFL safety. Why would you spend a 1st rounder on him?? Let some other team make that mistake. Or if Balke was Really in love with him then why not trade down 5 or 10 spots and STILL get him and if he was gone, then grab the BPA but I almost would guarantee Ward woulda been there in the mid 2nd. he's positionless!!!
wtf are you talking about?
First of all he ran a 4.5 on a bad foot that's plenty fast. Sherman ran a 4.56 he seems to be doing alright. Vontae Davis had a great year last season ran a 4.49. Joe Haden ran a 4.57(who also happens to be about the same size as Ward)
As for him being too small for a safety? Bethea is the same size but only has 10 lbs on him. Ward can pack on the weight pretty quickly if he wanted to. Eric Weddle arguably the top FS before Thomas came into his own only has like 8 lbs on him.
What gives you the idea that he would've been available later? I love how fans always know who would've been available later. Jimmie Ward was predicted by many to be a borderline 1st round pick. Certainly 30th overall is that.
Everyone remembers the Bears game and concentrates on that. That game was on the coaches. You can't have a rookie 1 on 1 on someone like Marshall and keep him out there despite what was happening. He played better after that game just needs to stay healthy.
Today......

Ward is the same size as Bethea
Also he ran a 4.4 40 at his pro day with an injured foot. So.....yeah what you're saying is kinda dumb
That's our boy
