SEA, SF and AZ are using same model for safety position…1 big/physical banger, 1 athletic FS that can also play in the slot.
This is no conversion, we lost Whitner, and the guy we signed to replaced him is 2 years out from retirement, this pick makes tons of sense. 49ers are re-tooling for 2016, as are the Hawks. We easily got (in terms of our system) the third best safety in the draft.
Good teams don't trade up anymore for one player to stay on top, that s**t worked in the 80s (where there was no salary cap/FA fear), but not today.

Amazing how many posters don't know who he is. He's pretty much the best coverage safety in the draft. Pair him up with Reid and we're set at safety for the next decade.
