I hear that and he definitely did old school it in demonstrating a discipline to the game, loyalty to the 49ers, and constantly working to get better, even in this stage of his career. He will always be a beast in my book.

Frank was a beast when everyone knew he was getting the ball, during a time when we barely knew who our starting QB was. He has always had that knack for breaking a 50,60,70,80 yard run off after wearing down defenses. Imagine Frank in his prime right now with Kap and our squad.....

Dwight Clark < Gore
Gore is a way more productive player

this. the impact he's had on this team, when everyone else was garbage starting with the oline puts him in the top. most of our favorite players we want to put up had great players around them and a system built for them to succeed. Frank had none of that, until very recently. I put him at #7 in nfl's list, behind Willis, only because Willis had more impact

True and that's fine by me, but I'm not even sure where Clark should land (Clark is just one of so many to choose from, as is Gore. I can't believe there isn't even one offensive lineman on the list.
When it's all said and done (once Gore hangs it up), he can very well be at #7 or have an argument for closer to #4 or #5 depending how far 49ers go (while he's still on team) and what his impact may/may not be as far as playoffs and *SB(s) go...
If the list were to consist of just offense, I would't even argue to say #7 or better, especially considering the fact that he had next to nothing for help (at times) and some crappy o-lines to block for him.

His status as the franchises all-time leading rusher makes him more than worthy, even without the ring. The Million Dollar backfield didn't win any championships either.

Putting an entire backfield is dumb. Hopefully Gore wins a title and forces them entirely off the list.

We all want to axe you... however, this is the internet.
