Yeah, I don't get these deliberately provocative threads either. You can't debate 2+2=5. Just move on.
Can we get johnnydel to start posting again? I would love to see his breakdown of Kap 2014. Or also, our defense--too few men at the line too often? yes or no.
I don't need 4WZ for mindless sensationalism. It's at the checkout line in every supermarket. This is San Francisco. Let's figure it out and get the gold.

Wilhoite will hold the fort down 'til Bowman returns...thank goodness we have him. As for Willis, he's a great compliment to Navarro, but there's no reason for him to try to be something he's not. Skuta's also available to man the ILB position...that's what he played before coming to SF. I think we're in good shape, but would expect Baalke to draft one...Stanford's Skov would be ideal, IMHO.

This. I really feel like Bowman was just a hair better. Thats no knock on Willis at all. We are really fortunate to have them both but if you think our defense isn't gonna skip a beat with Bow out your nuts.

Here's what will happen:
Brooks->ILB;
Skuta,Lemonier,SMith->OLB rotations
Wilhoite->sub Willis,Brooks;

Willis plays off the LOS so that Bowman can clean up. Some people should really do some research before they start dissing Pat.

At this point Willis has the better resume but both players abilities and skills are equal. I think we are just so use to Willis making big plays and beasting that it goes unnoticed. While Bowman is the new exciting player you have to watch. Pretty soon we will be talking about how Eric Reid should play MLB and be better than Bowman and Willis combined. lmao.

Bowman is better than Willis in all facets. Not only that he is a playmaker and clutch as f**k, big time player making big time plays when the team needs it most.

Novarro has been playing better than Pat. As a tandem they are fast, tenacious and VERY effective. There isn't much of a drop off from Bowman to Willis.
Wilhoite can in when Pat was out and played VERY well. We don't need to go out and find someone else.

Bowman is faster, has quicker change of direction, and is better at rushing the passer, but Willis is the far better tackler of the 2, and is the better run stuffer.
Bowman is just younger and better is certain areas, so Willis gets overshadowed sometimes. In my mind Willis is still the best tackler in football. Hes also more disciplined in the run game. If you watch the Lynch TD run in the NFC title game, Bowman didnt maintain his gap integrity, which allowed Lynch (along with a horrible mistake by Reid), to cut back in and break away. Willis NEVER makes those kinds of mistakes in run defense.
Of all people, 49ers fans should know that Willis is just as good. They just bring elite abilities to different aspects of the game, all while doing everything else at an all-pro level as well.

This is important. As odds are we will go into battle atleast once this season without both our bosses
