I strongly disagree for many reason the biggest two being experience and stability. Gores experience is the reason he had another 1000+ yard season and why he doesnt need elite speed or moster size to rack up yards on great defenses, we also dont know how stabil Lattimore will be in his first season back from what to most people would be a career ending injury. Even if after half season if hes still in perfect physical shape Lattimore would benefit this team much more with the opprotunity to learn and understand how to be an nfl rb from a rb who probably has the best vision in the league.

Sorry I should have said more "potential".
Just saying.... If the Cowboys can cut Emmitt, then Gore is expendable

He'll get another 1200 yards next season.

no. you release him , hoping other guys can do the job, hoping a guy who has zero carries in the nfl can do the job,,, you cut him hoping some guy with potential can do the job? i think the question has been answered. besides gore has done nothing to make you think he can not do the job anymore

Emmitt was much worse when the terrible Cowboys who were starting a whole rebuild cut him. Not close to the same situation as we are just a couple plays away from a super bowl win.

he can catch, he can run, he can block, he can call plays in the huddle that work. that sounds 4 dimensional to me. of course you have a oc who does not use him in the pass game but thats a whole other story

doubt he gets 1000 yards next season
doubt lattimore can either
split carries between them, with hunter getting some too
boom, best running game we've had since arrival of harbaugh (assuming lattimore is good to go)

If you saw run anything other than up the middle last last year please show me.
Last 5 games including playoffs
Gore 3.04 ypc
Hunter 6.76
The writing is on the wall

Without a hard nosed runner this O would be a hot steaming pile....no other runner on this team has been given an opp to establish any type of rhythm yet alone help this team on a consistent basis. Lattimore is a total unknown I'm hoping for he best. Hope don't get ya far.

People have been predicting the demise of Frank Gore for years now.
Eventually, the naysayers will be right, but so far Gore has just kept on keeping on.

No we shouldn't release him until Lattimore steps up and Hunter is back to his old self. I'd consider having him restructure to save a few mil for other players but that's as far as I would go. No next year is another story if Lattimore and Hunter do well.
