Neither one. We need a better front office IMO to win.

Are being serious? Gm I would prefer: John Scheider in Seattle, Ozzie Newsome in Baltimore, NY Giants GM, know those won't coming to SF, but there are assistant GMs and scouting directosr on those and other teams that can do as good a job or better job than Baalke. He did not improve 49ers weakness (WR, secondary) as much the Seattle GM improved his team's weakness (pass rush) last offseason. That is the main reason that Seachickens are champs and we are not.

John Scheider would be the guy to get if you can. He's done an outstanding job.

Then name your top 10 ! hahahaha ! Hello !
Sean Payton
Andy Reid
Mike McCoy
JOHN HARBAUGH
Chip Kelly
Bill Belichik
Bill Bradley
Mike Holgrem (he might come out of retirement for the Niners)
Mike Tomlin
Dick Lebeau
I think all 10 coaches listed would have success with this team, and i bet half of them would have won a ring in the last 3 years. If Sean Payton was running our offense we would have 3 rings
Ok I think you can come back from Lala land with that list, it should be 10 coaches who would be available. Oh and Dick Lebeau you gotta be kidding, that dude sucks as a HC.

It's really tough to pick one - I'd like both to stay. But, if I'm forced to pick - I'm keeping Baalke. I trust him to find the right coach for this team. There are a lot of good coaches in the NFL and in college - there are very few good GMs.
I'd hire David Shaw - who was the OC of Harbaugh during his Stanfurd years and is currently the HC.

I don't think it matters who we as fans would rather have. It's up to Jed and by every indication he has already made a decision.

Baalke I think is easier to replace than Harbaugh, it takes a special HC to do what Harbaugh did the last 3 years. Baalke IMO wouldn't be Baalke without Paraag by his side, who's the real glue to this teams personnel. Sure Baalke picks the players but Paraag is the one who really keeps the team together.

This whole situation is ridiculous!!! When the story first came out I thought is was a bunch of BS. Now after reading all the BS our front office is saying it has added more credence to the tentative situation. I cannot believe I read that someone from our front office said that there are 10 coaches they would rather have than JH. Who ever leaked that should be fired on the spot. Then they went on to say that no one in the FO thinks that JH is a 10 year head coach. I find it laughable how our FO is handling this. Right now our FO is playing a bad game of Russian roulette. It is going to come down to Jed and I am sad to say I have little faith in him now. I think he is a cheap ass just like his dad. They struck gold when they hired JH and now Jed is going to blow it up because he doesn't want to pay JH like a top 5 coach. The whole BS that he needs to win the SB to get that type of money is completely and utterly stupid. Coaches are just like players. If a player is ranked in the top 5 they want to get paid like they are in the top 5. Romo hasn't won a super bowl be he is getting paid a kings ransom. Message to Jed: Stop being cheap like your dad and get your head out of your A$$ and pay the man!!!! If I had to pick one, I would pick JH and as most rational zoners have said it's not even close. It is beyond me that people have voted for Baalke!

Is this Baalke? I know that Baalke is a decibel from Parcells. That would be the link to why you are so high on Sean Payton. FYI JH beat your Sean Payton in the playoffs and did with Alex at the helm! I honestly wouldn't want anyone else coaching the niners. If I had to make a list of the best coaches in the NFL right now there is only one HC that I would rank above JH and that would be Belichick. I would still rather have JH as the coach of the niners though.

Ballke, only because if you keep JH, you keep Roman indefinitely, and to that I say WTF.

I love Harbaugh and I certainly do not undervalue what he has done with our success and how he has turned the culture in the locker room for the better. Has made all the players play for each other...back each other.
but at the same time, he is stubborn. He has always tried to intimidate people. Baalke is the only person I see that stands up to him, and I think Jed respects that.
IMO, yes Coaching has got us to the playoffs and SuperBowl...but also Coaching cost us these past three years to end our season.
I'm sure Baalke has given Harbaugh leeway on roster decisions going into the season and during the season...or aleast most of them.
Harbaugh kept Kyle Williams at PR when it was obvious he had issues before the that season...as well as in that game. (yes Ginn was injured, but they shoud've had a backup plan if Kyle showed the slightest jidders. But they stuck with him in our most important moments. :(
never mind our issues on Offense that season with no adjustments for the Saints and Giants games... struggled on 3rd down conversions all season...and we still didn't make adjustments for the playoffs.
the Next season... we make it to the SuperBowl....again Coaching decisions...playclock management. Slow start.
This season we decide to not bring Randy back...the coaches don't try to use Jenkins...and we go into the season with no true deep threat on the active roster. We have our offensive struggles....seems like the same old s**t.. same old clock management "strategy" or issues..what ever you want to call it. Playing against the Seahawks in the most import game of the season and we have issues with basic s**t, that the coaching staff should've been prepared for. (don't go offsides!)
with this coaching staff, you have to wait for players to get injured before you can see if there is another player who can improve the team. I believe that is how it is with position coaches as well. It seems Harbaugh is stubborn with his coaches. Either it's Roman doesn't know how to use WRs...or our WR coach just sucks. But no, we just let what ever speed we have in that position sit on the bench..or traded away. For how long can you continue to say our receivers suck, before coming to the conclusion that we don't know how to develop them?
I think we have to move away from Roman to really see where our offense can go. We make it so easy for the Seahawks defense. By having Gore get most of the carries and with no deep threat on the outside...the Seahawks defense basically knows what would be possible from our offense... basically no outside runs and deep passes. Plays right into what they do best.
yes you can say that we were still in it till the very end....in each year. But was it the players holding us back from winning those games at the end? or the coaches? Should we have been up by multiple scores in those games in the first place with the talent we have? Not capitalizing in red zone situations?
so what is it... are our players talented enough to make our coaching staff look better than they are? Does Harbaugh hold everything together with the players, to have them play at their best? Is it one or the other?
I think it is alittle bit of both...but I think the issue with Jed and Trent is, Jim's loyalty/stubbornness with players and coaches.
Jed knows more about what goes on in the background, more so than us. He knows who asked for what, and who wanted to get rid of who. If there is any cautiousness regarding keeping Jim long term, it is coming from Jed. Jim does not count against the salary cap.
if Jed felt that Jim basically is a SuperBowl winning coach (with bad breaks) and should get paid like one...he would've took care of the deal already. BUT if Jed feels that we should have had 2-3 SuperBowls these past 3 seasons..and coaching issues ultimately prevented that at the end. Then he is going to be cautious in giving into Jim's demands of money and power...and that seems to be the hang up right now, imo.
