2014: Thoughts on the upcoming season...

Great post Marvin. Very optimistic about 2014 and beyond, perhaps even more so after March 11th when the FA stories for us and sea play out.

With everything that could still be sticking with me from the NFCCG, i'm hung on not playing more press on Sea WR (esp on 3rd down). Would love to see tighter coverage, esp on the edges to get that jam to break rhythm and give 99 and 55 an extra step.
Can't wait to see this team playing in our brand new stadium.
Regarding Kaepernick, I'm very optimistic about his growth this season because last offseason it appeared he probably was feeling his oats after the performance he had in 2012. This season, he felt the criticism big time and I think this spring and summer he will take it to the next level. The CK we saw late in the year, at the minimum I believe we will see early in the season and will continue to get better from there on. He will be focusing on improving the mental elements of the game much more than he did last year.

Winning the NFC West will be the biggest key to getting back to the super bowl. With the demise of Baltimore, it appears the super bowl is there for the taking for the NFC team for at least the next two seasons or so.

I've said it many times before, when this team plays to its potential it's frightening how good they are. Offensively, the peak of the Kaepernick era was more impressive than anything I've seen in the Wilson era. Wilson manages games better, but never had monster games like K.

Also, I think people are going to see more beasting from Patrick Willis now that he's back to being the undisputed center of our LB corps.
my boy culliver comin backkkk doe too he gonna take the league by storm next year.. bet!
this thread is so depressing
Yes let's wait for Kap to develop for 2 more years and let our window slip bye

Unfortunately, also the Cowboys.
Simple stuff

- Win the NFC West or bust. We tried winning 3-straight road games in the playoffs and failed.
I feel very confident that our front office will come through with some fantastic playmakers through draft/free-agency. With 6 picks in the first 3 rounds with such a deep draft, Things can only go up from here. We have delt with very tough losses to the last 3 Super Bowl champions. BUT it will all feel so much better when we Finally do Win it ALL! How beautiful would it be to Win Super Bowl 50 in OUR STADIUM!!???? 😍 go niners everything is gunna be alright because at the end of the day still NO ONE HAS IT BETTER THAN US!!!!!!!
No team has ever won 4 road games in a row. We were very close.

Right...because it will take so much less time to draft another QB without a high pick and allow him to develop.

Seriously?

Getting a little tired of this window slipping by BS. This is a young team. We have one of the premier (and young) Head Coaches in the league. Whilst we have some older players like Smith and Gore, younger guys are being groomed behind them (Tank and Lattimore, for example). Baalke is proving a master of the off-season and Marathe is right on top of the salary cap. Thanks to Baalke's manoeuvring we continue to get a number of draft picks and, with the exception of one year, they are well used. We are launching at a new stadium this year.

I don't know that it gets much better than this. The Superbowls will come.

I wouldn't say premier coaches as he hasn't been able to get the job done or, win anything . Still a very good coach none the less. However, I do agree that if kap can become a good qb the window will be open for a while I mean look at Tom Brady 5 Super Bowl appearances in 10 plus years. The packers and saints are always going to be contenders bc of Rogers and Brees . I think the 49ers are better than those teams. The problem is the 49ers have to play those games at home in the playoffs bc I don't see them going to n.o. Or Green Bay again and winning let alone winning in Seattle. Can this core win one Super Bowl . They probably can. However, would it be a waste of talent and awesome players if they only when one when it's all said and done. I think so. I just hope Seattle never wins another one.
I'm not feeling confident at all on our Red Zone scoring improvement.

I have zero confidence in JH's play calling in that area of the field.

JH has the final call to Kap.
