Cox was in our system before and healthier then Wright against a pass happy offense in GB.

Yep. Balke believes a great front 7 makes a good secondary. Have to agree.

Doubt Cox stays unless he does something amazing here....Cul comes back. I'm sure we will draft one, and u never know what the FA brings.

Brown's gonna command too much money imo.. Too many other guys we need to sign so I could definitely see us letting him walk

well right now the starters for 2014 are culliver and brock. I can see us making a run for verner from the titans. He is a very solid CB and i dont think he will command a top dollar contract and IMO he is better than brown. Then along with those three CBs we will probably pick up a CB in the first three rounds
Brock/Culliver/Verner/early round pick/Morris/late round CB

I hate to see Brown go, mainly since our CB's are our weak spot. We need to bulk up at CB and WR imo. 1st and 2nd rounders should be used on those positions.

Cox and Wright should be back as they will be cheap. Draft a young corner like Gilbert, Dennard or Roby and we're set.

Agreed! Yeah, future looks very bright here with plenty of depth:
Locks: Brock (RCB) and Culliver (LCB) and Morris (slot/nickle)
Probably be back: Cox (Nickle) and Wright (Challenger)
Probably wont be back: Rogers (Salaray Cap Cut) and Brown (FA for Bigger $)
Draft: High Draftee and Late Draftee
FA: At least 1 second tier FA or experienced first tier veteran with "issues" (i.e. injuries the first part of the year, chemical dependency, suspension, etc.)

Brock, Cully and Wright plus a 2nd round pick ...personally I'd like to see BOTH Brown and Rogers back

The wildcard will be Culliver. Hope that knee is right. He might be rusyt. And last time we seen him play he looked like he never played the position before. I think rogers does come back on a cheap deal. Not sure on Brown though.

Me too ...personally I think Carlos will make sure he is back next year and sign a cap friendly deal ...Brown on the other hand will want a nice chunk of change

He was the 2nd highest ranked cornerback in the NFL this season. He's going to get paid bigtime after the season he had. Brown will look like a bargain in comparison to the contract Verner will get.

I think we might be willing to offer $2.5-$3 mil/year. It's no slam dunk that another team will offer anything significantly higher than that.
Agreed. I don't think it is a given he's gone. Its a given that Rogers and Brown will not both be back, but one or the other could be and I can see it being Rogers if one does come back because he has the most to lose if he doesn't renegotiate and Brown is probably looking for his one big payday in the NFL considering his age and ability, and the 49ers are not the kind of team to give it to him (nor could they with their cap situation).

I'd like to see F.A. Vontae Davis sign for a cap-friendly "brotherly discount " for a chance to play with Vernon and get a ring.

First off to the OP, Cox didn't really just get up off the couch and play... he was with the 49ers and Seahawks for the majority of the year and I believe he was only unemployed for at the most 2 or 3 weeks and I bet both the 49ers and Seahawks told him to stay in shape because they might come calling later.
As for next year, we know at the minimum if everyone stays healthy and recovers at the very least the team will have Brock and Culliver as the starters for next season and to me that isn't such a horrible thing. I think both of those guys will hold up just fine as starters. Of course I am assuming that Rogers gets cut, which I have to admit seems likely but isn't really a sure thing.
I'd like to see them bring Brown and Cox back but I feel like Brown might be lost to FA, I also wouldn't mind seeing Wright come back if he still wants to play for his hometown team. I'd also like to see some high round draft picks spent on CB. At least with Brock and Culliver the pressure won't be as high on the hopeful draftpicks to start day 1, but at the very least it would be nice if a a highly drafted CB was the Nickel back.
