Mario Manningham. I Know He's Coming Back From An Injury. The Few Times He Has Played He HaS Had No Impact. I Think Were Better Of With Patton.

to put it in perspective, a lot of people had this guy a top 7-8 QB and hes spent most of the season hovering around 20.
Name me the other 19 QBs you would rather have right now?
This outta be good.
NinersGaint exaggerated some, but you can't tell me he's played below most peoples expectations this season. Go back and read the threads before the season started. Most on here had him ranked in the top5 of QBs. By mid-season, dude was being questioned as a legit starter or gimmick QB. That's a fact.
totally understandable, especialy with the expectations some had coming because of last year. BUT again, name me the other QBs yall would rather have than Kaep?
when Kaep's fellow teammates came back, and we started to run the ball more Kaep started to play more consistent. When you look at all the other QBs in the league, how many would you rather have? Kaep does not turn the ball over...and he has mostly been good on 3rd down conversions. And he is able to keep a play alive when everything is covered up.
I'd like to hear some QB names from the usual posters who have bashed Kaep this season.
This is terrible comment I mean other on than Fantasy wise KAP is the #6 QBR rated QB this year above:
Drew Brees
Tom Brady
Matt Ryan
Jay Cutler
Andrew Luck
Russell Wilson
Tony Romo
Cam Newton
Matt Stafford
Big Ben
Eli Manning

Outside of the first Seattle game, do you think that was more on Kaep or Greg Roman?

I think Baldwin has caught about half of his targets (3 out of 6). Not great, but not awful either. I'm still waiting for them to use him the way a big receiver should be used.
Yeah, I don't think they know how to use him.

Interesting thread.
The thread is about the expectations that posters have.
Whose expectations were realistic, foolish, and just plain.... ?

It's human nature to dwell on the negative, we had negative results for a decade but still kept positive with our devotion to the team.

Iupati - He has been manhandled at times this year, especially in the run game. Albeit against good competition, but that shouldn't matter for an elite guard.
Manningham - Kind of invisible.
Goodwin - Just gets beat too much. He's not much of an athlete, smarts and experience can only do so much.
Vance McDonald - Has missed on opportunities. He'll develop; it took Delanie some time also.
Patton - Frustrating injuries when we needed him the most.
Tank - Didn't expect his injury to keep him out the whole year.
Kap - Missing weapons, and tough defenses have rattled him a bit and he tends to rush things. Has made up for it with growth in other area's and is making plays. He needs to confront Roman about the choppy offense and tell him to stop relying on cute plays.
LMJ - Doesn't seem to fit what we are doing. Doesn't look comfortable returning punts.

I'd say Aldon Smith but not only for off the field issues but also on the field. Has a ton of talent yet has head scratching games at times where he looks unmotivated or disinterested...Most frustrating player to me partly because I expect so much...

Not many. I dont get on rookies. Vance McDonald isn't having a great year, but he is a good blocker. Needs to work on pass catching. Not upset with anyone really.
Earlier Niners like Nnamdi and Williams. But none currently.
Most pleased by Osgood, Ventrone, Reid, Brooks, Bowman, Dawson, Boldin, Vernon, Gore, Staley, A.Davis, Boone, Kap(Recently), Whitner, Willis, Justin, Aldon, Brock, Spillman, and Crabs(Since coming back). Mainly the core guys have been the best.
Sucks about Tank and Ian Williams not playing this year. But not many at all.

I think is more expectation than reality at this point with these people that makes me sick... the numbers dont lie KAP been solid this year for 49ers and yes better than Alex Smith who is 25th in QBR
