the shanahan machine produced the most impressive offensive team in modern day football history, IMO.
No hyperbole.
However, he had personnel that holmgren did not have to work with. So, it's tough to say.

Holmgren's offense is closest thing to Bill Walsh's offense. I'd say Mike Holmgren. If you are old enough to remember his last year as our offensive coordinator, then you know what I am talking about.

What I remember the most was the back field skill players went from being tools (as in utility) to weapons.
Marc Logan was a weapon at FB running the inside trap...
