Why defeating the Seahawks is more than just a win against a hated rival.

SEA win for us was best for ...uncle roman and kap. I believe both were intimidated or maybe even mesmerized by SEA, and I don't think either of them thot we could win. For kap this was his first SEA win after 2 losses, but roman did get the win under alex at Candlestick . Just guessing but I bet it was a huge boogie man or monkey to get off both their backs. Wouldn't be too surprised if Coach H didn't feel the same way.
i cant wait to whip the weakhawks in their house

I'd put the Eagles right there as well. With Nick foles at the helm they are significantly better.

Harbs never beat Kelly in college... I'd like to see him get his chance and for Niners to smash them.

Your right with the win against Seattle assuming they care of business against Tampa Atlanta and Arizona they will head into the post season with a 6 game win streak and with high confidence. What worries me though is the offense and Romans play calling is still not good enough it's improving but the offense doesn't scare any one. Yesterday the Niners scored on there first 3 possessions which is good but they were all Dawson field goals in the playoffs 9 points might not be good enough they have to take those opportunities and turn them into 21. Especially on the road in hostile environments. The offense was able to move the ball against one of the best defenses in the league that's a good sign now they just got to turn that into touchdowns. Kaep is heating up a little Boldin is un stoppable right now. Crabtree is slowly getting his groove back Davis is as good as has all year. They got to get all these guys clicking on all cylinders heading into the post season.

Agree with you, but I would just point out that there were two instances on those FG drives that hit us - the no call for pass interference on Crabs with the hands to the face from the Seattle secondary and if I remember, Goodwin or Boone got penalised for offensive holding on one of the other drives that killed the momentum.

We're not there on offence yet, but I think we could have come away with a TD out of those drives.

We need to improve in the redzone if we want to win in Seattle. Seriously...tooooooo many FG's..We will not go far in the playoffs with our Redzone woes.

And man what's up with Willis? He sure has looked very slow this year. When that Seattle TE beat him he burned him. I've seen this more often this year out of PW.

nep 1-1 bud
Realistically ( i am attempting to say this unbiased) the 49ers are the team most likely to be able to walk into @ Seattle or @ Saints and come out with a win out of every other team in NFC playoffs. THe next best team would be Carolina.

Detroit, Philly, Arizona, dallas, Chicago would all lose easily on the road vs. Seattle / Saints. These teams dont have the defense to keep games close and the offense to put points on the board.

I know everyone wants to see us play Seattle again (so do i), but i really want to go back to Saints and not only beat them, but injure Brees. And i want Brooks to do it.

That was busted coverage or missed assignment. If #52 was assigned to shadow that guy, the ball would've never gone his way.

Yea replay showed that Willis let him go, so that probably means zone, and a busted coverage

our defense matches up well with their offense , Bowman and Willis will keep Shady McCoy in check, and Foles will be running for his life all day

The Niners were definitely a better team on Sunday and deserve all the credit for their win. But there was nothing about that game that would lead me to believe that if the Niners would return to the Clink that they would suddenly put a whooping on the Hawks. The Hawks played a good tough game as well and lost to a good Niners team at the Stick by 2 points. Everyone acknowledges the Hawks have a very good HFA that probably accounts for 7 pts rather than the typical 3 most teams get at home. Now if the Niners were to have blown out the Hawks on Sunday (at least double digit win), that's a different story, but it was a close (and good) game. I wouldn't go assuming the Niners are suddenly going to whip the Hawks at home.
